Level 42 Digest for Sunday, December 14, 2003Tom, updating websites isn't
very hard, as long as you are in close contact with the person(s) you work
for

Don,
You mention Dave Brubeck Take Five, great song, but do you also
know Gary played this song very well at the Mark Mondesir gig in Monschau
last summer, it was stunning, maybe even better than the orriginal.

Gary is not only one of the best drummers in the world, but also a stunning
pianoplayer!!!

Norman

For all of you Jaco fans [of whom I know there are many here] who don't know about this CD, it is phenomenal.  It came out in the spring, and consists of the members of Word of Mouth, the last ensemble he played with extensively, and each track features a different world renown bass player.  Guest players include Jimmy Haslip, Victor Wooten, Christian McBride and Marcus Miller, and tracks include Havona, Teen Town, Punk Jazz, Opus Pocus, Continuum, etc.  It is hands down the best CD I bought this year, and has not left my changer since I bought it.

Any of you who live in the NYC vicinity, this ensemble is coming to NY this week.  They are playing at Iridium for almost a week, featuring different bass players for two nights each.  Winman and I are going on Friday night to see Victor Wooten play with them.  It is general admission, so anybody planning on attending give us a shout and we can hook up...

Lolita
