If anyone is interested, I have a small wav file of Pat singing that I'd be happy to embarass him with. When I get back stateside (if I can find it), I'll put it up! hahaha Welcome back old friends! Now if Tucker comes out of the woodwork, I'll have to pick meself back up off the floor (and thank him for the frightening drive around Seattle). | ||

| Yesterday, J said..... >>Yes, I agree, right up there with The Beatles J, do you really think the Beatles are/were over-rated ?? I can't think of any other band who not only had such a huge impact on music, but have sustained the awe and interest over such a long period of time. They wrote timeless, beautiful melodies and songs that still sound as great today as they must have done back in the day. I also bet more artists over the years have been inspired by The Beatles than any other artist/s (except maybe Robert Johnson and Elvis). Talking of Robert Johnson, didn't most music you hear today (apart from classical) evolve originally from the Mississippi Delta Blues and people like him ? Without Blues you don't have Elvis, and without Elvis you don't have just about everyone else. A sweeping generalisation I know, but true nonetheless. And on that note, a huge cheer for S Club this week, who have announced their split. At least they had the sense to know when it had run it's natural course.....hmmm. Dean | ||

Actually, I have quite
recently corresponded with "DiRKIeS!!"... he is doing
well, although busy
aggregating his huge +1000's collection of DJ vinyl albums
(which is what we continue
to yak about... not so much Level 42), and
working as a pro
house/techno DJ in Netherlands.

Colin, as far as putting ‘Coup D’etat’ on a CD compilation….its already been done. Check out the compilation titled ‘TURN IT ON’, released in 1996 on Spectrum. 16 tracks, including the tune you requested.
Andrea, I know that OMAR just played a gig in I guess he is still rolling along.
Ian, not sure if we will every see the TRASH stuff..and I doubt Mark will re-use The stuff as the basis for L42 songs. If it wasn’t good enuff the first time, I doubt Its gonna start to sound better with age.
OK, some of my faves other than L42…
Steely Dan Weather Report Nik Kershaw Peter Cox/Go West The Dan Reed Network (never hit it big) Incognito (latest album is VERY good) Parliament/Funkadelic

| Off topic: A few people on here are attending the Incognito show at the Jazz Cafe tonight [including two of us Americans!] so I wanted to let you know there is a Cogfest before the show. The place is called The Rat & Parrot and is just up the road from the Jazz Cafe. People will be there any time after 3, and Dan, Paul and I will likely drop by at some point before the show - we have a dinner table upstairs so we are not queuing up [first time for me, thank goodness!]. If any of you are going to the show, meet us there...
