>During the Groningen gig, Norman vdW pointed out that Phil (or Boon,
whoever
wrote the lyrics) cannot count until three.

Come on now, listen to the lyrics again, it's really not that hard to
understand. The lyrics tell us that it was only "my brother Joe and me"
who climbed down the "family tree that grew outside our bedroom window."
That's two people, not three. Later on we are told that "two kids were
picked up on the beat" and that, yes indeed, Emily was also in the back
seat of the car on the way home.

But there's no catch - surely Daddy took Emily in the car with him when he
went to pick up "Joe and me" from the police station.

Just when you thought you figured out the "New Old Level 42 Digest" thing,
I'm throwing another curve ball... the WEB VERSION of the Level 42 Digest
(not to be confused with the Level 42 Web Digest!)

Basically, each day's Digest mailing is posted to the website at around
7:00 am EST... so, the Digest homepage *is* the latest Digest mailing.
See http://www.worldmachine.com/level42 (or www.level42digest.com)
for an example. I thought this was the most sensible content to have
as the Digest's home page.

Note that email addresses for the WEB VERSION are purposefully munged
so that spambots don't harvest your address.

So now you can view the latest Digest via email or web, whichever you
prefer... although your posted messages must still be emailed. :)

Coming soon: Digest archive searches from the original Digest (+ the
new Digest) circa 1993! Stay tuned!

cheers,
Eric

Hi friends,

Mark will be on Veronica television on:

>ZONDAG 5 JANUARI (Sunday 5th of january at 19:00 )

>Veronica: 2 Meter Sessies (19.00): De eerste uitzending van '2 Meter
>Sessies' in het nieuwe jaar staat in het teken van de bas, Bond en
>skippyballen. Mark King, de virtuoze bassist van Level 42, legt uit wat de
>rol is van een bassist in een band en hoe hij dat funky geluid uit zijn
>instrument tovert. Ook geeft King de bassist van Wealthy Beggar, een Essent
>Award band uit de eerste lichting, een paar handige tips.

I will try to translate (excuse me if i'm wrong):
Mark will explain what a bassguitar player can do in a band and how to play
a funky style. He also will give some tips and tricks to a other bassplayer
(from Wealthy Beggar, winner of the Essent Award).

Happy new year, and best wishes to you and all the ones you take care of

Henri Blakenburg

I'm looking into doing this... unfortunately the list software doesn't
currently provide this functionality, but since I've worked with the
programmer to customize the software already, I may elect to have him
add this feature as well.

In the meantime, there are (currently) 270 subscribers on the Level 42
Digest mailing list. I'll post these stats from time to time as an FYI.

cheers,
Eric
