Cliff..to get caught up on all things L42, just drop
on over to ww.forevernow.com

The news pages are archived, so anything you missed
over the last year or so is waiting for you.

Steve - i know that dates and venues for next years
tour are already being booked in the UK, so there
WILL be a tour.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to all this so bear with me!!! I think that Level 42's new line up
is fantastic. OK so Boon, Phil and Mike are missing but Nathan, Lyndon and
Sean are doing a fine job. On saying that it is wierd not to hear Mike but
I suppose all good things must come to an end!

In response to Brams message about a tour next year, all i can say is.......
GOD I HOPE SO!!!!!

Please keep in touch, it's nice to hear from people who don't say "oh I
thought they'd split up" or "who?" when I mention the worlds best band.

It's excellent we got the old digest, and it seems already we have old members back, but is there anyway we could get other people back on the email diget who left when the web digest came about?  It's great to have the best of both world's, and lovely to be able to choose between the two!

Hi All

Great to have the digest back as I just didn't have the time to keep up with the web one and then forgot my login name when changing my PC and couldn't get on anyway.

It got a bit lively at the end of the original digest but hopefully everyone is still 'friends' and ready for some more good debating, discussion etc.
Even Bury are now down with Oxford in the basement so times are a bit rough eh Mr Nightfly

Well I went to see Level 42 in Plymouth and enjoyed every minute of it (intrigued and enjoyed Steve Lawson beforehand, not sure if I'd buy an album but certainly different and enjoyable Live)
Took a mate who actually got me into Level 42 in the first place back in 1983. He hasn't caught up with the band in years and wasn't expecting to enjoy it but really did.

Many bands have a change of line up along the way so nothing new in what Mark is doing.
Now if they sounded awful I could understand the problem but they don't they sound excellent and all have great ability. They put on a great performance and seem to really enjoy themselves on stage. I like that a lot.
Now  it might be great to have the original line-up again but if they are not happy and you have a miserable bunch of so and so's on stage then I don't think it will work.

I don't think you have to compare them just enjoy them both and be thankful that we are getting some great live music which believe me in Cornwall is very difficult to find. Maybe Mark will get into Cornwall itself next year but Plymouth will do if not!!!
Also I can imagine many of the fans in America and Worldwide would love the chance to get to see them now even though it's not the original line up, so let's enjoy them.

cheers

Pete

Let's try this reply again, 'cause the last attempt (which included the
nifty coloured message banner) was a tad unreadable. Which you all noticed
as you worked the old scroll bar.

Just where you left me: in the back closet, bound and gagged. And it was
fun for a while, but it got boring 'cause you put too much gaffer tape on
the gerbil.

Okay, so I'm now listening to the remastered SITL for the first time, and
it does seem to be an improvement. I recall that the original CD version
distorted here and there, and this one's much cleaner in that respect. But
I'll have to A-B it with the original before I announce a verdict on
improved bottom end.

First we have

>I love the improvements [to remastered SITL]. You can hear everything so
clearly.
>There was a lot of pieces I never heard before I listened to the
remasters.
>So I love them!!

And then

>It's worse.

Do tell! What makes it worse?

>Alex: looks like you're still working down the street.

Still there, but moved one block south to Dundas street, so I can't see
your building from mine anymore. By the way, for those who are keeping
track, Cliff and I hold the record for the longest time two people have
communicated over the Net and worked a few metres from one another but have
never met face to face. I think we're going into our fifth or sixth year
now.

Yes, always an eye-opener. I discovered Jamiroquai and Incognito that way.

Lately the recent Red Hot Chili Peppers and No Doubt have frequently graced
my CD player.

Definitely some odd text formatting going on around here: I see that Winman
also had a strangely short line length in his posting yesterday. His was
much longer than mine, though, so I can only hope that it's not the length
that matters.

Win, Loz, Cliff, EMI, Carl, Eric, and everybody else, it's great to see
your voices again. Except that AG guy, who I've never forgiven for not
splitting the profits on the sale of my sister.

Hi everyone !

Feels like coming home again! Thanx!

Bram, i was outside after the concert, and Mark told us that he had spoken
to the manager of Vredenburg and that he was positive about a concert next

Its now official... namely, that I'm getting tech support inquiries
about the WEB Digest (which BTW I have **nothing** to do with!) Looks
like I have to amend the Email Digest 'welcome' message to say "don't
bug me about the WEB Digest!"... ;)

Well hello again,

Nice to see some of the old names exist and that Loz still waits until midnight to post for No.1 next day ;o)

Oh well, I'll sit back and think of pigeons and holes for a while, and praising Forevernow.com... yes, now I'm back into the swing of things... :O)

Thanks for bringing this little forum back
