I would like your opinion on this "virtual bass plaing" Thomas ------------------------------ Subject: This is the weakest link... goodbye. There are comparisons to Mark in many >ways, Chris used a `lead' style approach to bass and millions of aspiring bass >players went out and bought Rickenbacker 4001s! Totally different styles of playing but a link nonetheless! >Chris >has been seen to `slap' his Ricky, check out the 9012Live video (very rare!) - >he >slaps on `Hold On' and `I've Seen All Good People'! Pretty tenuous link methinks. Surely the fact that 9012Live was directed by Steven Soderbergh, who recently hit big with Traffic. Starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, who first made her name in nostalgic British hogwash The Darling Buds Of May, starring David Jason, who as a lad was a mate of my dad, who begat myself, who is currently bassist with Sphere (prog rock/jazz fusion outfit, check out www.sphere3.co.uk by the way!), featuring drummer Jamie Fisher, who also plays for pop/trance outfit Melbourne, who's leader, Carrie Melbourne is part time bassist & stick player for Mike Oldfield, who regularly recorded with drummer Simon Phillips, who played on Tears For Fears Seeds of Love album, as did Manu Katche (all hail) who played on Changes by Mike Lindup, who, if memory serves me correctly, once played in Level 42 would have sufficed. Ta - W. P.S. Apologies to AG, for ignoring the glaring opportunity to detour via Richard Niles during the above. -- ======================================================================== William Burnett http://www.sphere3.co.uk/ ======================================================================== ------------------------------ Subject: MK interview From: lawford42 @ juno.com Date: Sat, 7 Apr 2001 15:35:02 -0400 Guess that comment he made puts to rest any thoughts of a reunion... I've recently subscribed again after a long period of time and was wondering if any new ones had come out, as I seem to recall reading that both MK and ML were doing some live gigs here and there. Hey Mrs Pink: did you ever get to finish the ML live tape (the Komeda gig I believe)? Oh yes- could still do with a copy of THE VIDEO SINGLES (NTSC VHS format) if anyone has an extra. I know there's nothing new on there, just being a completeist since I have the other four videos as well as the Guaranteed Live laserdisc. BTW, was there any other Level 42 LD's released besides LEVEL BEST and GUARANTEED LIVE? Full of questions I am today...
