I think it was summer '94 and it was aired the same Saturday night that Mark King did the Pop Quiz thing hosted by Chris Tarrant. It was also around the same time Level42 performed during the end credits of the very first Fast Show. Oh, and yeah Brian Connoly 'aint that funny, I agree..! I don't mean to put a downer on things but I must admit thinking at the time that their performance on Brian Connoly was a bit shakey- it looked as if they'd had no time to reherse or something. Shame... I can't remember if I recorded it or not - I will check out the Pop Quiz tape to see if it's on there..! Maybe someone else recorded it (Lisa H aka Mrs Pink would be my first port of call- she has the "odd tape or two" I seem to recall! :-) Sorry- this email is becomming needlessly long now- but back to the Fast Show, I walked past Paul Whitehouse and one of the other members (the tall one who does 'Competative Dad' etc) in the street on Saturday... which was nice... What a treat this was to watch! High tech even! I have a relatively new computer as well and had no problems. Likewise I thought Dream Crazy was a blast! And would add I Sleep On My Heart and Lying Still too. The idea to bring these songs back to life was a brilliant one, and I too would like to thank everyone who helped make this happen. So Thanks! Jakko is playing the guitar and there was a >coloured chap on the drums. A coloured chap? Green? Purple? Fuchsia? I hope it wasn't one of those Orange drummers, 'cause they ain't got no rhythm. >From: "James R Sutton" > >Gary is such a musical drummer and because he is also a pianist, >it is completely understandable. Yeah, 'cause, y'know, a drummer can't be musical just by being a drummer. How many people in my band? Five: three musicians, a singer, and a drummer. Gee, it's a good thing none of us have any biases or preconceived, poorly thought out ideas. Or am I being too sensitive? ...Alex... ------------------------------ Subject: Mark on BBC1 From: "Jose Planken" Date: Wed, 28 Mar 2001 20:52:27 +0100 HEY!!!! Why didn't anyone warn us that Mark would appear on TV. I though that's what informative web sites would be for... Luckily I saw the start and had a tape nearby and was able to tape most of the show. I hope it's his turn soon to be on 'This is your life'; he deserves it. Anyone going to Da Lata's gig on the 8th of April??? See Ya, Jose ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Mark on BBC 1 From: "Jose Planken" Date: Wed, 28 Mar 2001 21:14:02 +0100 OOOOOPS--didn't see Mondays mail by Stuart Holman... Of course the quality of the sound & CD mastering will be as previously top notch ;-) lemme know what you think... But I will only do it if I obtain those other versions of Starchild 2000 (dub & pingapella) ;-)))))))))))) *******************Internet Email Confidentiality Footer******************* Privileged/Confidential Information may be contained in this message.
