Paul will be gutted that I have seen them and he hasn't. You kept that one quiet Loz! What did they mime to? Was it "Love here I come" or "More to this world"? Did you get to meet David Ross and the guys?? Sounds like you had a great day with the Bad Boys plus Level 42 miming to arguably their best song ever "All over you". How cool would it have been if David and Mark had done a duet!? Incidentally, for all you other Bad Boys Inc fans, check out http://www.davidross.net for details of the former member's current project and plans to tour this summer!! Pics. (courtesy Carl Mueller) 07 Concert in Hilversum (Expohal)(Holland). 08 Concert in Hilversum (Expohal)(Holland). But ..i remember that i was very disapointed because the day that i visited the expo Mark wasnt there. When i asked at the info centre they told me that Mark was booked for one day only. So Carl, you were a lucky bastard ! Cheers Willem. ------------------------------ Subject: November line up From: Date: Sat, 7 Jul 2001 23:25:54 -0400 Hi Levelheads, got a question for those who follow Mark closely. Does the advertising for Mark's November shows indicate the band or individuals playing with Mark? I'm interested to see what the lineup will be. For bass-head fans of Mark who have not ventured into ordering the 1999 live CD 'Live at Jazz Cafe', go ahead and do so. I've been listening to this lots recently and found new ways to like it. First, it's refreshing to hear a bass-dominant, live production from Mark. Second, the presentation and sound quality of Mark's solo songs are excellent. The topper though is the bass solo which leads into a most thundering rendition of Mr. Pink. This recording is a gem. The sound of Mark's bass here is also interesting. It comes across muted, apparently void of some high mid-range frequencies. The low frequencies seem to be under tight control, because it's not muddy. Still, the overall volume is high enough for the bass propel the band, as Mark's bass did in recordings prior to 1985. I was pleasantly surprised tonight to 'Running in the Family' on American radio. It was played as lead-in music for the syndicated call-in radio program, Dr. Laura. that's all, Greg J ------------------------------ Subject: Hammy Joe Holdsworth From: Don Z Date: Sat, 7 Jul 2001 08:50:17 -0700 (PDT) > I managed to tape the Capital Radio broadcast, which > is still in the car, but getting tired. When I visited the IOW last summer, I was shocked at the change in Joe's. The black & white statues were gone, as well as all the stuff on the walls. And there wasn't a single hint of MK or L42 to be found. It was kinda prissy-looking. Didn't see any familiar faces when I looked in either, but the same shingle still hung outside above the door. >> Wasn't it Allan who played the legendary month of >> sold-out shows at Hammersmith Odeon, or am I >> mistaken? > > Played? Don't you mean "used his guitar to make > some whiny/screamy noises"? As those of us who were lucky enough to catch Holdsworth at B.B. King's with Gary Husband and Jimmy Johnson (Lo, Win, Viv, & me) can attest, he does a helluva lot more with his guitar than that. He has quite a long reach, allowing for insane intervals. I'd love to hear one of those Hammy shows, to see just how his style fit in with The 42. Cheers - Z. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I don't have a credit card also,i send Mark cash in a envelope, not the safest way,but i've had no problems with it in the past! I think it's safer than put your creditcard information online.(ehh)? Also, only some Dutch people (bass-players,MK-fans) ask me to copy official & still available albums cd due this problem with online ordering.NOT! Is there a chance to make Mark's albums available in the music stores?????? Yesterday Edwin Tilemans contacted me,he said that Mark King's Trash album is available in a Dutch music store in Beverwijk, he also said,it looks official,Mark's signature is original & the album's are numbered also. Hopefully these are originals, wondering if Mark sended a buch cd's out to Beverwijk?
