I saw two shows from the balcony in '99. This year I'll be purchasing general admission tickets. The balcony was fine, though when I bought the tickets I didn't realise that the purchase of a meal was implicit. The food was decent, but it was a little lonely up there! Mark and the boys played to the crowd on the floor and it would have been far more exciting to be down there with all the crush and sway of the audience. On the other hand, it was on the balcony that I first spied Mike Lindup the second night, as well as numerous other notables from L42's past. Looking forward to November! Requests are being routed to them and if you've sent in an email about the CD, a volunteer copier will be in touch with you soon. Remember there are over a 100 requests from the U.K. alone :-) Bear with us, it will be worth it! More soon Jack _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Level42 Digest V2001 #181 From: "Brian Flint" Date: Sun, 01 Jul 2001 19:53:44 Now that I've gotten over the fact that I was accused of playing the race card, something I take very seriously in this forum based on good humor and a bit of Level 42 news, I'd like to lay down some fine points so that the ignorant can better understand my posture. Please don't correct my grammar. I have spell check and grammar chaeck, if I care to, if it means that much to me, I'll use, otherwise I'll type at 75 wps, with ten percent errors and trust that the rest of you are intelligent enough to catch my meaning. If you aren't, I can not help you. If you can't possibly keep from correcting my grammar, try to do so without making up words. It diminishes your argument. If I challenge your philosphy, do not just restate your postition. It's the equivilent the Monty Python Argument sketch (Monty Python is my favorite American Comedy troupe). GIve me something of substance, else I might have to correct your syntax. Just to update as us all on where we stand: Canadians are more worldly because they know our national anthem I think Fred's a racist even though he's multi-cultural and smarter than me My Mother knows more about history than I do My grammar sucks Well, I'm glad we were able to formulate this wonderfully accurate profile of two americans and an entire nation so efficiently. No wonder people in this world are ignorant. If we can come up with something like this based on what was actually written on the digest. Think about how skewed all the other 1100+ people think about us, hmm Fred? At any rate, I stand by everything I've said. Partly because it proves who's more narrow minded, oh and the words been used Fred, it's not americo-centric, the one you were looking for was Egocentric. Your handy webster you keep sitting next to your keyboard will fill you in on the details. I don't exactly know what it is, but something here keeps me hooked (and it definitely isn't the Level42 contents!). >Subject: I know its not Level 42...but >From: "Jeff Mahoney" >Date: Sat, 30 Jun 2001 18:58:29 +1000 > ... Best release since Beneath the surface...for me...... >typical COG album........slick and funky... >no Maysa but the new girls sound like her and do a great job...... I >recommend this album for its superb musianship and singing.......since there >is no LEVEL 42 this is the next best thing........ beautiful stuff. Hey Jeff, I don't agree with you! It's not the next best thing, it's far better! In fact it's real and it's now! I'm going to see Incognito play live tonight! I can't believe my luck. I too love the new album and would like to recommend it to everyone! Apparently there are two different versions, one with 12 tracks and one with 14. Mine has 12 :( Talking about new albums, Jennix, why haven't you been advertising Niks new album "To be Frank" on here? Also superb stuff! And last but not least, go here: http://www.nikkershaw.net/drumtalk20010605.html Now I ask you, if Nik Kershaw can take the time to answer eMails from his fans just like Marcus Miller does, why the hell can't Mark King? Must have something to do with being "semi-retired", I suppose. Luv, Hans
