I sent an email a couple weeks ago and I have heard nothing yet ??? I too have received the "Guaranteed" , German compilation CD. The CD contains the following tracks, but a shame "All She Wants" was left out though .... Guaranteed Forever Now With A Little Love My Father's Shoes Talking In Your Sleep One In A Million Romance Overtime Love In A Peaceful World Set Me Up All Over You If You Were Mine Her Big Day Tired Of Waiting The Ape Seven Years Recently I Picked up a copy of "Lessons In Live" the bootleg LP. The sound quality is not that bad - how much is it worth ?? Finally, I have a spare copy of the "Masterseries" CD, the one with the white cover. Does anyone want to trade this for something ? I still looking for the "My Father's Shoes" CD single, which contains the track "As The Years Go By". P.S. I've got my tickets for the 29th and 30th Nov for the Jazz Cafe ... But then, of course, I would not really exist in my present form & we get into the whole Terminator 2 & Back to the future 'paradox' argument. You really don't know how much grief I go through every News years eve when the DJ plays 'Hi Ho Silver Lining' and my mum gets all maudlin. Not to mention the endless instant messages. As we say in America, he really seems to have a hard-on for me, which in this case, I guess, could be taken in many different senses. ____________________ Pat Flanagan PFPD -- newmedia marketing consulting a limited liability company PO Box 281, Granger, IN 46530-0281 v:616.663.2250 -- competitive business advantages through creative technology ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Canada: The Fifty-First State From: Andrea Date: Sat, 30 Jun 2001 15:06:21 -0300 > Subject: Canada: The Fifty-First State > From: Cymrusmc @ aol.com > I'm really not sure where you formulated the idea that I was racist or that I > was Americo-centric (is there such a word?) Well, in fact, there isn’t. I suppose the term you were thinking about was “Latin American,” that is, somebody of the Spanish or Portuguese-speaking countries of South and Central America. You’re welcome ! ------------------------------ Subject: Racism!! From: "Brian Flint" Date: Sat, 30 Jun 2001 21:12:36 I CHALLENGE ANYONE TO GO BACK INTO THE DEPTHS OF THIS ESTEEMED DIGEST AND FIND OUT WHERE I HAVE EVER CALLED ANYONE A RACIST. Christ I guess nobody ever actually reads this thing. Whatever Fred, if you have to worry about details such as Greek or latin it just proves my point. I still translated it from latin, that still makes me more canadian than you, according to your theory. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Level42 Digest V2001 #180 From: "Brian Flint" Date: Sat, 30 Jun 2001 21:17:13 >>I'm really not sure where you formulated the idea that I was racist<< ????????? Fair point "Joe", I will defend to the hilt your right to say it, but you might want to be a bit less indelicate in future. Calling someone an amateur is about as savage as you can get, and I was quite surprised by the relatively moderate level of vitriol which came back at you. Perhaps people perceived it as pure provocation. >Subject: Quality bootlegs that HAVEN'T been circulated >From: Richard Beasley > >As a new subscriber...I expect to read interesting articles about Level 42 >in the Digest not a load of bitching. My goodness, you are new. Fear not, there is always plenty of both - it's just a question of a) tolerating that which bores you and b) extracting that which doesn't. >Subject: Canada: The Fifty-First State >From: Cymrusmc @ aol.com > >I'm really not sure where you formulated the idea that I was racist or that >I >was Americo-centric Quite right. If you're Americo-centric, I'm a Dutchman. >And the possesive pronoun "its" does not take an apostrophe. "It's" is the >contraction of "it is". Predictable as a home defeat on the first day of the season. I had really high hopes for Fred. He joined the Digest at a quiet time in a blaze of grammar, but he was clearly an educated chap and I assumed that when he put down his Fowler's Modern Usage he'd have wit and insight to offer. However he seems hell bent (or should it be hell-bent, strike me dead I'm not sure) on just proving how educated he is. We've got the message! I'm convinced someone like Fred could offer a lot in the way of spirited and interesting debate round here, but surely this endless display of scholarship is not the way to do it? I suspect even this, not - I repeat NOT - an attack but an entreaty to show us that of which he is capable, will only be met by some pedantic put down. Accompanied by pointing out that yesterday I spelt the word practice as a noun when I was using it as a verb. So let me ask you Fred, please, don't take any humour at your expense so much to heart (do you think Friesen and I really hate each other?) and prove your intellect with your own insight rather than meticulous research. >Subject: Digest flirtations >From: Nathania Apple > >And by the way, AG has been flirting with me since 24 Jun, 1998. And that was before I'd seen the photo. Wait a minute, she knows the date?! Who exactly is stalking whom here, hey? 24 June 1998, it emerges, was the height of the Digest members' biography season. I really miss that, don't you? AG PS I would like to point out that the whole America-Canada misunderstanding thing started not with Flint, but with Friesen pointing out that in spite of Flint saying his list of drummers was Americanized one of them was Canadian. Since number 3 in Flint's list was Phil Gould, it would take a blundering oaf to assume that Flint thought all his drummers were actually American. So blame it all on Friesen. What else would you expect of a Canadian anyway? PPS We do actually hate each other. I hate him more than he hates me, to be honest. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. ------------------------------ Subject: Teaching grammer to suck eggs From: "Smart" Date: Sun, 1 Jul 2001 10:23:22 +0100 >I think Andrew and me should form a tribute band: the Z chromo boyz.
