Are you now one of these US haters who keep popping up on the digest? We keep having these instances where folks slag off others, based on where they live in the world. Besides, it would make sense if you posted in your auctions if the records are PAL or NTSC. Nothing worse than buying a record, and finding it wont play in my laser disc player. :-) Oh, and Andrew, have you ever been to New York City? Just wonder how that city stacks up against your hatred for all things 'london'. :-) Steve Randal, sorry but you are wrong.."Phrenology is the 'study of the bumps on Walt's ass". And if anyone can figure out what movie that quote comes from, you watch too many movies. Andrew maybe? I'm a bit late with this, but here goes anyway: Fave Drummers, in no partocualr order: Dennis Chambers, Akira Jimbo, Phil G, Dave Weckl, Billy Cobham Fave gigs, same deal L42 at The Ritz, NYC 1986 - my first L42 gig Parliament/Funkadelic - Studio 54 1988 - although I got a badly sprained hand in a mosh pit fight, this 4 hour + gig was brilliant. Chuck Brown & The Soul Searchers - live at Tramps NYC - this was the nite Miles passed on, and Chuck did the most incredible version of TUTU. He was later joined on stage by Chaka Khan and Bernie Worrell. Bye, Winston ------------------------------ Subject: KILL From: "Willem" Date: Sat, 16 Jun 2001 14:42:14 +0200 Could some kind soul please shoot that guy Raphael ? what the hell did he do with LIL. that'll be all; thanx for helping me out. cheers willem ------------------------------ Subject: Y-Chromo-Boyz From: "Willem" Date: Sat, 16 Jun 2001 15:44:56 +0200 Finally found some time to review the album from the Y-Chromo-Boyz which is called 2 double 01. I pressume you have downloaded a couple of tracks to have a first listen to the boyz and maybe you were as suprised as i was ! Thank god there are still ppl who can make real music (nowadays i find MTV deleted from my TV, cause the so called music wasnt really topquality,...you know) The influence of some great bands like Level 42, Shakatak, Casiopea, Spyro Gyra, Mezzoforte, can be found in different tracks of the 2double01 album. Let me take you through a couple of tracks; track 5/ Three blind mice. The first time i heard this , a song called The rythm of the jungle (dunno the artist) jumped into my mind, and since then every time i play this track i start singing this line ! Anyway its a great track which makes you drive faster in your car. track 6/ X meets Y. Well this track immediately reminded me to Casiopea. Starting slowly the track has a great climax ! Perfect ! track 10/Blue Sky Highway Smooth sax, could be mr Beckenstein himself.. (Spyro Gyra) realy summer feel track!--icecream,sunshine,funtime ! A complete album with 11 great tracks. For those who like Level 42, Spyro,Casio, and many other bands in this genre, there is only one advise BUY THIS ALBUM!! you wont regret, your money well spent !! Please visit the Y-Chromo-Boyz website http://www.y-chromo-boyz.com/index.htm and order your personal copy on-line. Maybe you can catch them live !
