I can just picture it now everyone singing the words to "why are you.." it would be fu***ng brilliant. Cant blame louis is a lovely song as well, and it would be great to hear it, but to be honest with you my fellow digesters, surely it would be better for MK to play purely CLASSIC 42 songs. Particularly ones live. Obviously you have to take into account that the other band members would have so much stuff to rehearse, it may not be possible. But has anyone seen Rockpalast 1983??????? They finish with "88" then come back to do "are you hearing what i hear?" ITs BLOODY BRILLIANT. And if MK did that, it would easily be the greatest end to a setlist. As long as they play "World Machine" as well!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers Lee STANDARD DISCLAIMER: This message is confidential. You should not copy it or disclose its contents to anyone. But since you mention the auctions, some of you will know that my esteem for Americans has risen steadily since I joined this list, but the one area in which some of you fully live up to the stereotype is your wonderful insularity. I’m probably breaking some kind of auctioneer-auctionee privilege here, but a citizen of which other nation would need to ask a question like this, which I received yesterday: I used to have a US album by Aretha with that song on it and I wish I still knew the name of the album. I don't know if your is the same but anyway, the 12" is playable on US record players, right? From: "Randall, Steve" Date: Fri, 15 Jun 2001 08:50:12 -0400 WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING NO BEAUTIFUL SOUTH CONTENT EITHER WARNING WARNING WARNING PAGE DOWN Thanks Lawrence for giving me the spelling of Michel Gauquelin. What a good ploy. Write a book saying you have found correlation, then write another saying you were wrong. Two books, two fees, no further forward. Terminology :- It is a sun sign, not star sign. It is the background against which your sun was placed at birth. But a rose by any other name..... Of course I have to disagree about the progression of the equinoxes argument. It is the planets of the solar system that are said to influence earthly affairs. I mean, Given that our bodies are 98% water and the moons effect on the oceans, the effect of stars whose light takes years to reach us must by, excuse the pun, astronomically small. I prefer to think it is the area of solar system the those planets are passing through which may cause any observed effects. There are vast magnetic fields and flows out there. (and we are talking billions of amperes around the major planets. Who can say if they do not affect our DNA at conception, or onto something onto our boot file when were are booted up at birth. The backdrop of the stars just gives a convenient visual indication of where they are, rather than saying something like "its 30 degrees on from where it was before." Radioactivity and effects on the earth's crust have been observed to coincide with planets being in certain aspects especially square. It may be that astrology is much older than 6000 years old. How did the ancients know there were seven Peliades when you can't see them all without the aid of a telescope, not used for observations till the 16th(?) century. Needless to say I am always sceptical of statistics, most of us have more than the average number of arms, for instance. That one about Sagittarian miners. I tried to see if the holiday periods of the mining community would have a bearing on this but there seemed not to be a link. The comments about there only being 12 types of people must allude to the fact that the Zodiac should be split up into smaller portions for more "accuracy". There is already the system of decanates (10 degrees) which split the houses and signs into the three qualities, (cardinal, fixed and mutable) but it all starts to get a bit exponential when you start applying this to each planet. You could split the circle into the 360 degrees. But you'd never finish writing the text book! There was that arachnid sign someone tried to peddle once. Dead right about the caesarean. The difference in the Kray Twins is amazing, real text book stuff, there being a very long period between their births. (24 hours ?) Moon in different signs, Gemini and Cancer I think, and different ascendants and houses I think. The mad one was! Of course, no matter what day I was born on, I would never become King, no matter what my planets said! Fate? Of course astrology works. Just like other forms of magic, divination and religion, you just use of it what you can. A prop. Its a pity tea reading is no longer popular. This no doubt has something to do with the move towards tea bags, which when one looks into the cup, leave no future at all. For the uninitiated, Phrenology is the now pilloried science of studying bumps on the head. These bumps indicate talents concerned with the area of brain associated with a particular skill, for instance remembering obscure Level 42 tracks. Has anyone tried reverse phrenology. This is where one hits the head with a hammer to acquire a bump and therefore proficiency in the desired area, for instance remembering obscure Level 42 tracks. P.S. Does anyone know what sign the "Y Chromo Boyz" are? It's called Predetermination, or maybe not, it could be called something else. If you wake up in the morning and always read your horoscope, you are predetermining your day. For instance. "Today a business decision will be made that can affect your career" you go to work with that on your mind and somehow you'll make it happen. I understand this is a simple example and astrology deals with things in much greater detail, but it's the same thing, if someone or something is telling you how to act based on whenyou are born, you'll tend, subliminally to act that way. It's just like the psychics. If they say something is going to happen, and you believe them, you'll find a way to maker it happen. Then, if you look atall the teen bopper wantabe wicans, they do all sorts of candle burning, chanting, making imaginary circles in the nude, incense burning type of stuff because some book said it'll make them happier, they do it and believe it so therefore, subliminally it happens. It's crap, yes, but in some idiotic way, it also works. PSychics, self-help guros, horoscopes and astrology, it's all the same load of crap. It's on their album Fly and I highly reccommend it. They also have a song on there called Earle Had to Die. It's an hysterically funny song about domestic violence (if you can imagine that!!!). It's about a man who beats his wife so his wife and her best friend bump him off and open a business together. It's become something of a women's anthem over here. I think Sting is also on the soundtrack but I can't recall which song. I want to say Every Breath You Take but I'm not sure.
