Is there anything new about this except for the artwork (which comes from the L42 fan club & the Guaranteed photo shoot, if I'm not mistaken)? No new tracks, apparently no new mixes, and to call an album "Guaranteed" that's approximately 1/2 Guaranteed, 1/2 Forever Now... that's just weird. I'm inclined to believe Mikey's version of the story. They drew slips of paper out of a hat on this one. Shuf ------------------------------ Subject: Guaranteed compilation From: "David Moore" Date: Thu, 10 May 2001 16:23:07 Howdy, Does anyone know if the songs on this new compilation are remastered or not? And if they've released a compilation cd of tracks from Guaranteed and Forever Now, are they planning to release these remastered anytime soon? Why didn't they just do that in the first place? Just think, being able to listen to The Ape remastered! Who knows, maybe there's a remixed version that they're just waiting to put on as a bonus track; maybe a live version or two. Wow!;o) bye, dave _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Subject: Burn yourselves From: Don Z Date: Thu, 10 May 2001 11:53:40 -0700 (PDT) > Sorry guys but I can't helping thinking that perhaps > the best compilations are those that you get to burn > yourselves, (or get burned for you in my case)--that > way you get to choose what tracks you want on them One of the first things I did when I got the re-masters was make a 2-disc "Instrumental 42" set. I simply used the sixteen re-mastered "studio" instrumentals, and since all of those CD's were re-mastered together, all the songs were nicely matched for my new instrumental set. Song list... Sandstorm Instrumental Love Theme to Margaret Woman Mr. Pink 88 43 Heathrow Dune Tune Forty-Two Beezer One Foundation & Empire The Pursuit of Accidents Shapeshifter Return of the Handsome Rugged Man Gresham Blues "Instrumental 42" actually turned out to be the best jazz set in my CD collection! Try it, if you haven't already. Cheers - Don Z. donzipf @ aol.com http://members.aol.com/donworld __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Let us hope that he doesn't get detained for bringing his CHANGES CD into China, apparently it breaks several laws in China regarding religion and free thinking, the Chinese way indeed! Mikey
