Maybe it's over 5 years after the split, so the 'Mark King'-name wasn't protected anymore by BMG/RCA. Maybe??? Saw Dutch komedian Bert Visscher last week on TV, (his show Fijne Nuances) after the break he showed up in a Ice hockey costume, guess what number he used..... Yep it was..... Norman ------------------------------ Subject: Nothing more to say lyrics From: "Maarten Gorter" Date: Sat, 16 Dec 2000 17:37:24 +0100 Good work on the lyrics, Lolita! My own try at the lyrics was about the same. On listening again (and again), I now have the following: +++ (Your) lies confront us every day The writings on the wall Our love seems doomed to fade away Your blue eyes waterfall I know it's over now It's all so clear somehow We both have nothing more to say Your smile betrays the way you feel ** You just can't hide the pain ** I know that laugh is not for real There's no need to explain Those tears that filled your eyes ** They're only cloudy skies It makes me realise How close we came, should we try again Nothing more to say, nothing more to say You threw our love away, nothing more to say ** Alone again today, nothing more to say What a price to pay, nothing more to say I see you everywhere My mind won't let you go These sounds that fill the air It's your laughter that won't go I know our love is through There's no more we can do Yet if we start anew What would we say, would we find a way +++ How about it? The "cloudy skies" bit maybe doesn't make much sense, but it's quite poetic... Anyway, it's a GREAT song. First thing: What country are you from? Secondly: A COUNTRY using a "system" from ages ago? The COUNTRY does not vote with a system from ages ago. Each state holds an election for president. There is NO federal election for anything. So, one state will have laws governing elections in its own state different from the one next door. Yes, I agree that the punch-card method blows. The states should not use it because it is prone to too many errors and miscounts. Now, if you're talking about the Electoral College, you may be partially right. Yes, Bush won with a minority of the popular vote, but won with a majority of the electoral votes. The Electoral College was implemented so that the more populous states would not end up dictating the winner of an election - back then, one or two of the most populous states could determine the winner of the election based on popular vote, while the 11 other states whose population may still not exceed that of the two most populous states, or maybe even MAY exceed those two big states. So, a "point system" was created to level the field. This is how Bush won (actually, he didn't win - the Supreme Court handed the election to Bush.) Just because high-tech is so prominent in the United States does not mean it should be bandied about. [Obligatory Level 42 content remark] I think the Level 42 song that best describes Election Fraud 2000 is "People". The maneuvering, lies, theft, and conspiracy is succinctly described in this song (unless you're a Republican and Bush supporter where you may say the song that best describes the mess is Queen's "We Are The Champions", or maybe "We Will Rock You". Keep it up, every new episode makes me laugh more ! O by the way, when we vote here in Holland, we actualy have voting-computers to vote. Just press two buttons and presto ! I bet we can export them to the US ? Very handy with counting, no "bad votes" etcetera. Isn't it a bit weird that the country of Microsoft, Apple, Sun, Intel, Motorola, HP and, and, and, is still voting with a system from ages ago ???? >> Excuse me, Hans: you may laught at the US and say it's a circus with funny clowns, but if it weren't for the "Greatest Show On Earth", your butt would be speaking German and celebrating April 20 as a national holiday. You may want to remember that. You may also remember that you still have a monarchy with a rich old lady on the throne who was never elected. You may call her and any other public-paid throne "the ultimate welfare family." Did you vote to have Mother abdicate for her dear old daughter? No, I didn't think so. Did you vote for a German diplomat to marry your princess to become Prince Consort? No, I didn't think so, either. If Holland is so progressive, what with touch screens and funky weed, why weren't they able to hold off TWO Nazi invasions? Lots of scientists, innovation, and development, yet they rolled over Holland and through Belgium like nothing. Yes, there is your "Dutch courage" in action. You also live at an average of 13 feet below sea level. In Louisiana, they have an interesting word for people who live in low-lying bogs when they don't have to. Progressive, indeed. Try sending the computers to Florida, though. The rest of the 49 other states had relatively smooth elections. Fred, The Two-Bit Bassist ------------------------------ Subject: DVD'S etc... CD-RW don't play won't play in a car stereo or normal cd player....... but they do in a DVD unit.......That's good value. You run your turntable right into your sound card? Don't you need a pre-amp? I'd think the noise you'd get trying to crank up the gain high enough to be able to record straight from your turntable would be unbearable.
