For instance I chew gum when I play hockey, because when I'm skating around and looking for that good pass I tend to clench my teeth, chewing gum avoids soreness. Anybody buy this one?? Mark chews Hubba Bubba Pink Lemonade Anybody buy THAT one :D Easily my favorite instrumental and the second L42 tune I've ever heard is the PP version of Mr. Pink. It has everything a Fusion fan would want, a great groove, wonderful synchopation, a simple hook of a melody, and of course, Mark going crack baby on his guitar. In The Ugly American News today: A homeless guy is now richer than me because he found some stupid statues while rummaging for cans in a Dumpster, Some stupid pot head offs a handful of Juvenile delinquents doing their civic duty outside of Las Vegas. Some idiot is holding his ex-girlfriends family hostage. Bill Clinton is STILL president. It makes me wonder if anybody truly likes anyone. Random Thought: I wonder if all the people who claim The Cure are depressing have ever listened to the Lyrics: Just Like Heaven, Friday I'm in love, Just Like Cockatoos, Let's go to Bed. In sports: Ed Belfour is a crack addict Prostitute buying, security guard beating, police bribing sorry excuse for a hockey player. Ray Caruth is most likely getting the chair. etc etc etc Aren't we glad we pay kids millions of dollars for sports. When our band wins a grammy (Stop laughing, it could happen) I'm going to have to thank Mark for......... After going over several L42 videos, studying musicianship, presence, working the crowd, etc. A few things occur to me. First, Mark King is a nut (Obviously proven in Fait Accompli) but as a result he is most comfortable in front of a crowd and it's only fitting that he is the front man, of course maybe he learned that from being a front man, who knows which came first. Secondly, Mike is not as comfortable in front of a crowd, most his hand movements look choreographed and he looked damn scared singing Silence on Fait Accompli. Not to take away from Mike's talents, he admitted himself that he wasn't the "outgoing" sort. Just an observation. I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said am I??? Hell, who cares. Also, I think Gary Husband had a lot of Charisma for the band but I'm sure we'd all agree nothing beats the orignal 5 members (Annie included). Unless you're a big fan of the band however, I think the band lacks a little bit of the "Show atmosphere" maybe this is a poor conclusion because I'm comparing them to Oingo Boingo's Live show where everyone is a nut aside from Steve Bartek who seems bored most of the time. Are you guy's still reading this? Wow, impressive. When he (and Boon) left the band, I was surprised to see that they had hired Gary Husband, who is far from impeccable (the genuine type), but compensates with incredible style, power and feel. After a while I was also amazed by how well the band had replaced a very rhythmical, impeccable guitar player and drummer with two others (Allan and then Jakko, plus Gary) who have a totally different style. Still, the band managed to work, and produce pieces like "Talking in your sleep", "Billy's gone", "If you were mine" and so on, where drumming and guitar are essential, yet they don't overcome the L42 style. This is another proof that they were a tremendous band. I remember leapin' around like a wild thing when while watching L42 at the end of the all day Chystal Palace Bowl thing, when I caught a glimps of Phil jiggin' around just of stage. "I remember thinking "how cool that they're all still tight". Ahh, to remenice. DOHW rocks, love those rototoms.... James W ------------------------------ Subject: Gum, instrumentals, and other fun stuff From: "Brian Flint" Date: Tue, 21 Mar 2000 11:30:23 PST Mark Chews gum to relax his jaw, being hardly 1/5 the bass player he is, I know that the concentration to play what he plays can make your teeth clench, and if you already have a predisposition to do so, it's magnified. I'm done, buh bye Bri ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Subject: test From: vpopmail @ mail.worldmachine.com Date: 24 Mar 2000 12:30:27 -0000 test
