Stop telling me what to like, >you arrogant git. > Let me make this very, very clear. I am only joking. Now go find a sense of humour. It's just a joke you know? I really couldn't care less if you like Marylin Manson or sounds of screaming cats. Go and get unecessarily offensive with someone else. And everyone else on the digest also thinks this (thats another joke by the way - I'll point them out in future just for you) L()Z ------------------------------ Subject: 15 seconds ! thats all it takes, From: "Willem en Kirsti" Date: Sat, 7 Oct 2000 22:04:14 +0200 LIST OF ATTENDEES TO THE JAZZ-CAFE GIGS ! I bought it yesterday. Indeed it is a (sometimes weird) translation of the orignal English Guitarist Interview. A very stupid translation mistake is the following: In the seperate text box "Level by Level" it says: "When guitarist Boon Gould left in 1987, following a GRUELLING touring......". In the Dutch version the text box is called: "Personeelszaken" and it says: "Toen gitarist Boon Gould er in 1987 mee kapte, na RAMPZALIGE tournees......" For those who do not speak Dutch: "RAMPZALIG" would be an OK tranlation for "GRUELLING" in some cases, but certainly not in this context ! "Rampzalig" as it is used now means "disasterous", which for the unknowing reader would mean that the tour was a terrible performance by the band. Yet the original English merely wanted to indicate that it was a very exhausting touring (At least, this is how I understand it). But further, an excellent spotlight on Mark and Level 42, very welcome indeed !!! For those interested, I am willing to exchange a copy of this magazine for an English (Guitarist) issue ! Haha, good to practise on your Dutch. (Drink a couple of beers, that always seems to work great with my cousin who lives in Boston, and who always claims he doesn't speak Dutch very well anymore..... :) ) Groetjes, Andre
