I seems whenever somebody puts a currency symbol, the net software scrambles it. The title was 42 million pound dome. While ordering the new Beautiful South Limited Edition 2CD set, I was informed Ian Tunstall still has a few of the Level 42 sets available and ready to be shipped. Not on order, not on back order, but actually in his shop and ready to be sent to a new home. Find them at: http://www.changesone.co.uk Just got my Visa bill on the purchase (charged on Aug. 24th) which showed 55.86 pounds converted to $83.39 US. (Mikey P. how did I do?) From: Lolitaj @ aol.com Date: Wed, 27 Sep 2000 09:15:45 EDT I've been away for a while and have not read the digest, so forgive me if this is a dumb question or has already been answered. Is the show happening on November 22nd on the Isle of Wight? If so, I am going to go to that one and would like to know who else is trying to do so as well. I cannot make the Jazz Cafe shows, as I have committments both the 11th and 18th, and the plane ticket to London is way too expensive without a Saturday overnight stay involved [$800 versus $300]. I will come for the show on the 22nd and leave England Sunday the 26th. This will be my third Thanksgiving in a row spent in England if this works out. Mrs. Pink, up for Indian in the East End to have a true Thanksgiving supper :-)? How about sharing these and producing them as "Unreached Levels Vol 2" ? Kansas City Milkman Richard Maybury email : maybury @ nildram.co.uk web: www.maybury.nildram.co.uk ------------------------------ Subject: No re-union Micro-kids From: Lars-Ove Larsson Date: Wed, 27 Sep 2000 22:02:15 +0200 There will never be a reunion of Level 42. In any shape or form. That 3 of the guys got together for the first time in 13 years doesn't change that. Since they are still friends they will do that occasionally, just for the fun of it. Like Boon says; If it became a serious situation it would take away the enjoyment. Mark is semi-retired and as such we are lucky that he will get out and play every once in a while, and maybe release the odd cd for us fans. I think he has had enough of record companies not holding their promises. Mike is at the moment a member of Da Lata, and seems to be enjoying that. Hopefully we will eventually see some of his solo stuff surface when his schedule allows. Phil and Boon both have projects going, some of which will include eachother, but that doesn't mean anything permanent, just doing "session-work" on eachothers material. Boon is very rock-oriented and says that he always saw Level 42 as rock-based, rather than jazz based. Certainly his new material is all rock, and not a hint of jazz-funk. The new cd is due out literally any day now and Boon already has new material written that he will record when time allows, possibly with Phil on drums. It will still be all Boon's music, he wouldn't have it any other way. So, the concept of regrouping with Marcus Miller or any other bassist, although it would be a bit of fun for us fans, I don't think Mike, Phil or Boon would have any interest whatsoever in doing that. I hate to rain on anyone's parade, but if I were any one of the fab four I would be really tired of this issue always coming up. They have their own lives now. They all still dabble in the music biz, and some of it will be made available to us through various websites but that's it. Enjoy the re-issues, but that was then and this is now. Well, all us subscribers to 'Unpopular Hi-Fi Magazine' can conduct exhaustive A-B comparisons in our purpose-designed anechoic chambers,(hours of fun),but I have a plan... Why not give 'em away to friends who have yet to appreciate the band in all their funkedness, you know the type... er.. "good bass-player, umm..".This way they'll have to listen to the disc at least once out of politeness sake, and who knows, they might even enjoy it! (not recommended for the completist, who has to own everything, even the George Formby ukelele-speed-garage mixes (Japanese version)). Eventually, by a process of osmosis, we should be able to assimilate these unbelievers into the Level 42 Collective. Whadda ya think? gotta be worth a try. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
