(Only 1 week to go) . On a print out in my local HMV store of the up and coming new releases they had a list of the re-issues which a misprint they had not noticed. The album "The Pursuit of Accidents" was called "The Pursuit of Happiness" !!!!!!!! I'm sure their will be a lot of happy people in just over a weeks time when they get their hands on the re-issues. I always thought these would never get released ! Till the sun goes down..... From: "David Webster" Date: Sun, 13 Aug 2000 18:33:36 +0100 Hi y'all, It's been a while since my last posting, but I heard some good news from a mate at work. He's a keen bass player and reads Guitarist magazine a lot. Aparently, they have given the reissues a rave review just recently. Not sure what month this was from, but I just thought I'd share it with you all. Also, I heared that MK was doing some filming for the BBC. Does anyone have any more information about this??? Also, this could be totally irrelevent, but has anyone heard the new name for the (old) Nat West Tower in London!!!! Tower 42 Amazing!!! It will be shown in England around November time. He says:"I found it very nerve racking after all these years but the guys were very friendly so i hope it comes across okay." Bill Sharpe is a > fantastic keyboard/piano player and George Anderson jnr is a > very capable > slapper. Oh, another man with impeccable taste. Shakatak were fabulous in the early 80s, although I haven't really heard any of their more recent stuff, so I can't comment on that. I used to be a bit of a keyboard / electronic organ player myself and Shakatak were THE band for that back then. They were here in Estonia two or three years ago - unfortunately they were playing in a festival with loads of bands I most definitely didn't want to pay money for, so I didn't get to see them. Hello too to Neil Cannings the big Shakatak fan from Digest #173. Meanwhile, I've been making enquiries to see about getting the reissues in Estonia. PolyGram and Polydor's official importer said basically, "Reissues, what reissues? We haven't heard about any reissues. We'll have to check with our Finnish and Polish (!) suppliers." And so I asked in one of the largest music shops whether they'll have them, and I got the definitive answer of, "Certainly, I think." Well I guess I'll see in a week's time... Just trying to hang on until then. Morgan. www.level42.com ------------------------------ Subject: BritFest 2K Dates?/ Shakatak From: Date: Mon, 14 Aug 2000 10:45:35 +0100 Only 3 months to wait for the tour so I guess I'll try to get things moving on the Britfest Front. Having had a look at the tour dates, I reckon there are two possible dates for the BF in November: Saturday 11th November and Friday 17th. There are no gigs on these days (so far as I know). I'll need some feedback from people, especially those of you who will be travelling from outside the UK. Last year I think we had a web page up showing people's movements and which gigs they intended going to. I think this might be a good idea, so any volunteers to set up a BF web page on their L42 site would be much appreciated, cos my HTML sucks... I'll worry about the location of the BF when we have a date sorted out. As for Shakatak, I would recommend getting 'Shakatak - The collection' (Spectrum 552 020-2) which has all their hits on. I picked it up for £4.99 in MVC, Huntingdon. There is a L42 mention in the sleeve notes as well! Phil tazmania @ bigwig.net plee @ imerge.co.uk
