From: "Desmond Lynch" Date: Thu, 20 Jul 2000 14:39:32 BST Hi Guys just voted for my song selection at mark's site, in the comments box i left a message saying what a treat it would be for all of us if mark was to invite Wally Badarou to play with him at the gigs,(wouldn't that be cool.....? I for one have never seen Wally play live, but he was at the jazz cafe last year in the crowd, so who knows..... Lets get some comments from other digesters and maybe if we got enough requests Wally might be persuaded to play for us all, See You At The Gigs Des (can you imagine mark doing a bass line for chief inspector?) ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Subject: Paul Young From: "Davis, Guy" Date: Thu, 20 Jul 2000 08:41:46 -0500 For all of you wondering about Paul Young: From the Paul Young Official Website http://www.paul-young.com/main.htm -IMPORTANT- Sunday July 16th - Sad note Last night, Paul Young from Mike & The Mechanics had a fatal heart attack. In order to prevent some of you from sending us worried emails due to wrong interpretation of the sad news, we just want to let you know that "our" Paul is fine. ------------------------------ Subject: soundtracks From: Winston Walker Date: Thu, 20 Jul 2000 09:54:37 -0400 Jenny, the only time I can recall a Level 42 tune in a movie, was when 'Lessons In Love' was used in the John Cusack comedy ' Hot Pursuit. It can be found during the very last scene of the movie, and follows over into the end credits. I think Carl has a clip of this scene up on www.forevernow.com Of course the band did appear in the movie 'The Fantasist', right? Also, I found 'Something About Mary' to be hilarious. For some folkd who may not know, if you are looking for info that was posted in an earlier digest, go to the digest homepage at www.worldmachine.com/level42 and you can peruse past issues. Heres hoping Jakko gets invited to play at the Jazz Cafe shows, because the twin guitar attack was pretty cool. tcoy, Winston ------------------------------ Subject: TFF Digest From: "M. Alot of players around this time were using a fingerboard switching system called Novatone. This didnt last long, the company no longer makes the system I am told. Victor ended up having a custom built bass made by Pensa-Suhr that he currently uses. This is his dark brown bass. EMG pickups, I believe. He does have a newer cd out called Low Blow. Excellent cd with Dennis Chambers, Omar Hakim, Kenny Garrett among others. Not only good bass music but good music overall. Hope this helps. From: "ztavendl" Date: Fri, 21 Jul 2000 10:13:40 +0100 Hi levelheads, im very concerned about these Jazz Cafe gigs, do you have to be 18+, because if so, me and a couple of friends cant go to see it. It really takes the piss, and just because were slightly younger does not mean we dont appreciate them as much! Does any one know if any of the other places will accept under age viewers.
