I don't think anyone has mentioned this before but if they have I'm sorry.............. On the JC c.d, the credits for throwing sevens is M.King/W.Badarou so do we take it that MK didn't write all the stuff on trash or is it just a mistake? anyone know? Also I'm looking for live recordings on c.d so if anyone can help me, mail me privately. Cheers! JuJu. p.s What is Lobster? ------------------------------ Subject: Mission Impossible From: "Andrew Goodwin" Date: Mon, 10 Jul 2000 11:29:59 BST Some time ago somebody organised a list on their web site to track who was attending Mark King’s shows on which date. I was wondering if we could perhaps do something similar to co-ordinate a rota for pointing out the Level 42 reference in Mission Impossible 2? Doing it in the ad hoc way we are at the moment, I have noticed that one or two Digests have gone by recently without anyone highlighting this fascinating nugget. I would be quite willing to point it out every second Thursday until October, if others are willing to join in and help the cause? Weren't they the ones who did >"I Promised you a miracle" >Any one know what Album? Nope, that was Simple Minds. I think the album was "Once Apon a Time" but don't quote me on that, it might have been the one prior to that. >Has anyone discovered a Level 42 DVD? Please let me know. Not Level 42 DVD's as such, but a few of the Princes Trust concerts are available on DVD. I got the 86 and 87 ones, both featuring Level and a bunch of other great stuff to (notably Go West featuring Al Murphy on the 87 one) from Virgin in the UK, but I'm sure you could probably pick them up from Amazon or somewhere. The '89 one I believe there is a Japanese version of that floating around, maybe someone could let us know where to get hold of it? Just for the record, the three tracks I picked for November were Return of the Handsome Rugged Man, True Believers and Out of Sight, Out of Mind. Lisa ------------------------------ Subject: gary husband video From: susan a lawton Date: Mon, 10 Jul 2000 09:10:38 -0400 viv, try audiophile. if you can't find them on the internet, the last e-mail addresses i had for them (which are current, as far as i know) are: audiophile @ erols.com (for mike) and audiophile2 @ erols.com (for mark). that's not mike and mark as in level 42, just so happens those are the guys that own audiophile. it's based out of maryland and they had the video last time i checked out their web page - other level 42 goodies too! good luck.............. susan ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! It is on the delta label for £6.99. I am sure this is just another copy of one the previous albums( "turn it on I think it was called), it has a really dodgy cover. Has anybody else seen this in the shops yet? Regards Neil Gray. P.S there seems to be a lot of voting for the forthcoming tour for "the machine stops". Great choice of track, but the heartbreaking thing would be to finally hear this track played live, only for Mikes brilliant solo to be played by Lyndan connah!!!! Does anyone know the line up for the band yet? ------------------------------ Subject: bargains From: "Pete Willis" Date: Mon, 10 Jul 2000 16:52:34 +0100 Just to encourage everyone to keep your eyes open when searching at clearout sales (car boot sales in the UK) because you never know what gems may be lurking there. My business is selling music on the internet (CDs and Records) which means I trawl these places rummaging through boxes of records until my knees can't take no more. Of course from time to time I get to add to my Level 42 collection which is very nice indeed. My best find recently was when I stumbled upon a 12" ELITE 'Love Meeting Love' in its original stickered sleeve. The cover had a little bit of wear but the record is MINT. The amazing thing was I hadn't seen a copy before and yet a day later I had a dealer offering me a very battered copy, really bad condition of the same item for £30!!! While I'm on I may as well ask if anyone gets radio promo CDs or Records as part of their business or whatever and would like to supply me, feel free to contact me anytime. Pete ------------------------------ Subject: My Father's Shoes... From: "M. Payne" Date: Mon, 10 Jul 2000 14:25:41 CDT Hello again, I just wanted to pass a incident that happpened to me. My father passed away (no tears please, this is a HAPPY story) not too long ago, and I was such in a rush to get back to help with the family and plan the details and such. When it came time to actually get dressed for the service I realised that I forgot my dress shoes. I thought, GREAT go to my father's service wearing a suit and Nike's, tacky! My step-mom (my dad's wife)said that my dad had some new dress shoes and that I could see if they fit, and if they did I could have them. Well here I am the morning of the service digging through my fathers' closet, found the shoes, and they fit perfectly. So now walking in my father's shoes during that service and since then has been quite a strange feeling, and that song will forever have special meaning to me. I know a few of you have mailed me with questions and i want to assure you that i wil answer your replies but i have to take care of family matters first. I hope you all understand and i will speak to you all as soon as i can best wishes Lisa 'Mrs Pink' xx ------------------------------ Subject: Return of the ...Mark + Ringtones From: Bilal42 @ aol.com Date: Mon, 10 Jul 2000 20:16:41 EDT How about this for a live track suggestion for Mark King: 'Return of the Mack' (Mark Morrison) - lets face it, it would sound really cool and will get the whole crowd on their feet! It would be great to hear Mark do it, as I think it would suit him and be a lot of fun. Anyone agree? Also I think Dream Crazy, I Sleep On My Heart, Good Man in a Storm and Coup De tat would be good choices (bit of a trend developing here). Of course I am assuming that we'll get World Machine and Something About You without having to beg for it. Ringtones ==== The best site for ringtones is www.yourmobile.com - they have the best selection and are always up to date with both old songs and latest hits. I don't even use ringtones (I prefer the Nokia 'Ring Ring' to help remain discreet), yet, I downloaded a Toni Braxton, Barry White and Prince because it was such a laugh. Theres no L42 on the site but you can submit requests, so I did. All the best Bilal ps... on a related note, does anyone else here read this digest on a Palm computer? The only prob is that AOL mail doesn't seem to pick up my Nokia via IR- anyone else get this problem? ------------------------------ Subject: Attention Mauro From: Bilal42 @ aol.com Date: Mon, 10 Jul 2000 20:44:27 EDT Mauro (Imiti?) From: Brian Luttrull Date: Mon, 10 Jul 2000 21:37:04 -0500 I've tried yourmobile.com a few times but it never worked. Emailing them, they always say their site isn't fully operational yet. It just seems that way (kinda opposite of the Death Star). I've got a Nokia 5190 w/ Powertel. I saw 'Nik' Kershaw and a few other good movie tunes. Some of the music files sound pretty bad. I doubt the people running the site made the tunes, but who knows. I emailed them about the Eye of the Tiger mistake a month or two ago and never got a reply. It's still incorrect. Brian > > So has anyone managed to get a level 42 ringtone for their telephone ? > > I have been looking for ages but have not found one and several people have > said > " send us a midi file and I will see what I can do " but nothing . > There is a good site www.yourmobile.com which can send you plenty of > ringtones including Nick Kershaw - The riddle for the NK fans out there, to > loads of phones, in loads of countries but no Level 42. > I have emailed the site to see if he can do a Level tone but no reply as yet > so please any one else want a level ringtone PLEASE email the site and > request Heaven in my Hands or whatever as a ringtone. > ------------------------------ Subject: Re-releases From: Michele Solis Date: Mon, 10 Jul 2000 23:52:47 -0400 Hello again levelheads, I was wondering about the re-releases and whether they are going to be released in the USA in August also. I would assume so, but thought I better check. I was also wondering if anyone knows why the words "Art and Master" are capitalized in the song Kinder Eye off of the Guaranteed cd? I am definitely not going to be able to attend the concerts in November. So the people that are going, should get together and have a big bash and take lots of pictures so that the rest of the world can enjoy the merriment right along with you. I am Leaving you now.
