Listening to it on the way to work this morning, I realised that it has quite awesome potential of success if it was remixed slightly and updated. It really is a funky track, which I think could have quite a wide appeal to those who only remember "Running in the Family". If Polydor do decide to release a single, then the key is getting it airplay. Any one have any ideas on how the digest could help?? What makes us more special than any other average punter who might or might not like the CD? Devil's advocate I know but it's got to be done! >Although the club remixes (i. e. the Lorimer Overtime mixes) really sucked Now that IS interesting. I had a friend at the time those remixes came out who *detested* Level 42 (don't ask me why he was my friend!) but loved those Overtime mixes. I have nothing against bringing Level 42's music to new audiences. I didn't think much of those remixes either - but they did tie in with what was going on in the clubs at the time. For the years I spent receiving promo CDs, I rarely got re-released or remastered stuff. I too would be interested in this one! Is there any decent promotion planned for the new CDs - or are we all going to have to hunt down the items in the middle of the 'L' section in the record store? ------------------------------ Subject: Guaranteed From: "Mark Summers" Date: Tue, 4 Jul 2000 16:33:47 -1000 I think the best track off "Guaranteed" is My Father Shoes (closely followed by Overtime). Ronald ------------------------------ Subject: Digest #133 From: angela armstrong Date: Tue, 4 Jul 2000 10:29:24 -0700 (PDT) I tend to agree that Guaranteed was never given the recognition it deserves. "Overtime","Her Big Day","If You Were Mine", these are just a few reasons why this album is so cool. Why does it seem like everyone wants to forget that it ever existed? I love this album! It's one of L42's best! Forever Now is another one that doesn't get the respect it deserves. What's going on guys? These are both great, great albums. I only hope that these albums will be re-released someday also. Cheers Angela P.S.-I disagree with Mikey42 on the club mixes from Guaranteed however. I thought they were pretty good. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Kick off your party with Yahoo!
