I found a flyer from the Axion Beach Festival held in Zeebrugge (like every year) and this year are the artist : Moloko, All saints, Angie Stone D'angelo. Dalata have a performance for about 1 hour on 15 july from 14.15 till 15.15. So I think it's gonna be a lot of money for the tickets. If someone wants any, let me know There was an article in the paper about that festival too with an piece of every artist Including Da Lata but not a word about our Mike. christien Send FREE Greetings for Father's Day--or any day! My fiancee has an older Sony type which does not accept CD-R's , they sound very aweful or skip contineously. These CD's are burned with an modern burner. You could try it with your burner if you had better results with it. Rgds, Wilko BTW. Looking forward to get some more MK stuff in the future......... -- Wilko J. I`m surprised at you `serious` digesters. This statement was in fact uttered by the gorgeous and most famous digester Bill `two pizzas` Miller, during that memorable November 99 Level 43 gig at the 99 Britfest at the begining of Follow Me. It was not a statement made by MK at all. !!!! THe Hat ------------------------------ Subject: Mini Fest/ Original CDs vs Reissues. From: "brian bacon" Date: Tue, 27 Jun 2000 19:12:56 GMT Hi to you all, Sorry I couldn't make the Mini Fest on Saturday, I was so knackered after the filming of cd UK I just wanted to get back to Brum. I only went to see the Corrs, but they kept us locked in for Steps, Five and Kylie Minogue, what a nightmare!! I did get on the TV though, hehe! Put me down for the next mini fest. Well to the subject of the reissues. All my L42 cds are the original ones and I've found the older ones like "Level 42" "The Pursuit of Accidents" and "Standing in the Light" sound better than the later stuff like "Guaranteed" and "Forever Now" I don't know whether it has to to with the fact that the early ones were produced using the analogue master tapes and the later ones were produced using digital recording throughout or how they were mastered. The earlier cds have a crispness about them that the later ones do not. I hope the reissues are mastered carefully so as not to lose some of that crispness that the early cds have. For example on my original issue of "Level 42" the cymbals on "Starchild" really to sting where as on "If You Were Mine" on "Guaranteed" they sound slightly spashy. Of course purists go for vinyl. I still like to put the odd 12" on the my deck, and belive me, they sound better on vinyl than on the "Rmixes Album". What ever happened to CD Video discs? I have a few of the little gold gems including the origianl UK release of "It's Over". I've seen them online at a cd store for £25 each. You can't get a machine to play them anymore I think, does anyone know if you can get the software to play them on my PC? Anyhow until nextime, Keep funkin' Brian. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Subject: Reissues From: MDear36910 @ aol.com Date: Tue, 27 Jun 2000 16:10:22 EDT Hi, Does anyone know the actual release date of the reissues? Alan Brooks (the artist who did the cover of "The Chinese Way" and "Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind" 12-inch and 7-inch singles) would be happy to do some artworks. So I decided to release a very special cd (Limited edition of 500 CD sets). Deadline : 20th October 2000. (To celebrate Mark's birthday and the 20 years of Level 42 !!) From: "Wil Hensley" Date: Tue, 27 Jun 2000 19:54:30 PDT Not exactly what you would think. I saw the new Mission Impossible movie last weekend and made notice of something. When the elevator is rising in the building, it doesn't say what floor it is, but what level. And, lo and behold, the 42nd floor shows as LEVEL 42. It made me think that whoever was responsible might be a fan, and it was their way of slipping that in the movie. Just my 2 lincolns. From: "Mike Giusti" Organization: The Magical Mayhem of Mike Giusti Date: Tue, 27 Jun 2000 21:22:10 -0700 I received a fair amount of responses inquiring about the sale of my Chapman Stick. I figured that posting it here was smart as the Level 42 fan is quite learned in the art of music and hence, knowledgeable on bass and the stick. If you are interested in purchasing a Chapman Stick at a significantly lower price, please visit: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=367843176 This is a 10-String model with no scratches, dents, or warps, and the very last guitar string is broken. I do not know when this unit was made as I bought it from a fellow musician about 6 years ago. The Stick is in great condition otherwise, but the case's inside mold is coming apart due to age. It does not have an adjustable bridge but the action is nice and low to the body. Thanks for your time, Mike ------------------------------ Subject: New Member. I have finally found people who love Level 42 the way I do From: Mark Solis Date: Wed, 28 Jun 2000 01:29:50 -0400 Yes, I am a new member. My name is Michele Solis. I live in Denver, Colorado, USA. I am married with 2 children and 2 stepchildren. I am a stay-at-home mom and loving every minute of it. I have enjoyed Level 42 since 1985 when the single "Something About You" came out. I loved the funky jazz sound and the lyrics said what I was feeling at the time. I was a teenager and found my solace in Level 42's music. I have been listening to them and collecting their music ever since. I am extremely excited to meet new people through this website because we already have one very big thing in common..... We love Level 42! Have a great day!
