L()ZZ ------------------------------ Subject: pronouncing your "R's" From: John.O'Connell @ equant.com Date: Fri, 17 Dec 1999 14:29:13 +0000 Perhaps I'm getting really sad in my old age but last night on the way home I was listening to RITF and I heard something which made me go back and listen to it several times... In the verse where Mark sings "looking back its so bizarre...it runs in the family" it sounds like Mark cannot pronounce the "r" and sings "Wuns in the family", this happens several times but towards the end of the song it sounds ok again whenever he sings "runs" or "running". Anyway, take a listen for yourself and I'll go back to waiting for the Live CD by the fireside with my cup of tea. Nuff said John "and no religion too...." You have deeply offended my personal beliefs. You've stepped over the line, and written something that is truly repulsive. Yes, that's right, I'm trying to tell you that, before you write any more of your diatribes, the correct spelling is "humour". ************** Mmmmmm. Unreached Levels. Mmmmmmmmmm. I didn't get the impression at all that he was indifferent - my take on his answer was completely different than his intent, obviously. I suppose I need an 'irony' pill. Well, Jakko, sorry about that. As we say in the US, 'my bad'. End of quote. I talked with Jakko very briefly after Friday Night's gig and I asked wether he was bothered about the crowd singing his parts. He said he didn't mind really. And by his tone I think he meant that. I think like he writes on his internet site he was a bit fed up with it after it kept going for a week. I have mixed feelings about this. Normaly I do sing along a lot. But you never realize it yourself really. Often the soundlevels are so high you don't even hear yourself. What is bothering me a lot more is the constant YO-HO YO-HO-ing through all kind of songs. It's a bit like the whistles-thing...it really hurts the music but seems to be part of every L42 (related) gig since the early eightees. However, I seem to have dealt with the whistle problem effectively since the Shepherd's Bush gig ;) !!!! Groetjes, Andre ------------------------------ Subject: PO Box 23? From: "NIGEL BIRD" Date: Fri, 17 Dec 1999 22:17:15 -0000 Hi MicroKiddies! Anyone else puzzled by Mark's current marketing strategy? Did he really walk into his local Post Office in Sandown on a Monday morning and accept the next available post office box? 23? For Christ's sake Mark get a grip, mate! You should have demanded PO Box 42! Mark - I think you need help. I really thought I was far away enough for the picture Mark made for the sleeve of the Jazz Cafe CD to stay out of the picture......hope this doesn't spoil the CD for you ;) !! (Lolita and others: take your 'irony' pills now:) By the way. Actualy this makes me a little angry. I wasn't alowed to take any pictures and my camera was even taken from me during the gig. So what gives Mark the right to take a picture of me and publish it on his CD without my prior agreement ? ;) !!! OK Mark, when you sell a 1000+ copies of the Jazz Cafe CD, we're even since I have one or two pictures of you on my site..... :) !! Some guy named "Sultan" is offering various live and studio material, some of them look very familiar like the "Expohal" recordings (don't explode Carl, please stay calm) and the (MONO !) soundtracks of the Rockpalast gigs from both '83 and '84. I mailed the German Ebay about this, but don't expect too much from them. I also mailed the Rockpalast people, so maybe they can stop at least these "20 bit remastered", (as if that is hard to do nowadays) Rockpalast CDs. Prices are outrages. Go ahead and bombard that bastard with e-mails !!!! (Do make sure to not use your "real" mail address..... Maybe Mark can act himself to prevent this ?
