GREEN) Date: Fri, 15 Oct 1999 11:14:18 +0100 What the world needs is a major Level 42 convention on the Isle Of Wight. If it was all official and everything, I think the whole band would be encouraged to go along (but not play together - that's out of the question). Trips could be organised like tours around key Level 42 areas - a display of Level 42 material - question and answer sessions with the group - oh what a marvellous dream. Unfortunatly it would need someone with the most accute sense of organisation to sort it all out - I am sure as the cult of Level 42 grows and grows that one day this will happen, and for me it can't come soon enough. As for Claire - leaving Sheffield to be closer to Mike is probably one of very few reasons why I could imagine anyone could possibly leave the meadow of sweet fruits where I live. Also, didn't I read that the whole Level 42 dream actually started in Sheffield? I'll check it out tonight. Steve Mountford please email me here or at lozlevel42 @ wordmachine.freeserve.co.uk, WRT the rare MK 12". Is this intentional? I won't say it doesn't look cool even if it doesn't. How can I. He could even wear a Ritchie toupe and get away with it! He's just toooo cool. Ho moved on, to learn another song. ------------------------------ Subject: It Will Be Alright On The Night From: "Dabbs, Steve" Date: Fri, 15 Oct 1999 12:53:32 +0100 How many people have spotted a mistake in a L42 video ? I have seen two. In RITF, Mark king smacks himself in the face with his guitar just after the line "your gonna have to face the music" and in Take Care Of Yourself Alan Murphy does a similar thing about halfway through the song. Anyone else spoted similar cock-ups ? Steve ------------------------------ Subject: GHENT!!!!!! Otherwise, a barren little town.) Anyway, I went to the Carl's Jr. (fastfood hamburger place), they took my order, and handed me one of those little standup tags to put on your table, so they can bring the order to you. It was #42. ____________________ Pat Flanagan PFPD -- newmedia marketing consulting a limited liability company PO Box 281, Granger, IN 46530-0281 v:616.663.2250 -- competitive business advantages through creative technology ------------------------------ Subject: STALKER From: "David Webster" Date: Fri, 15 Oct 1999 15:08:48 +0100 In reply to WALTER FRANKEN and VALERIE WOOD. Here are top three Level 42 favorite video picks: Love Games: Back to where it all began (well almost anyway)! This was the start of what would become a beautiful musical friendship with the millions (and millions) of Level 42 fans worldwide. Also features the infamous (?) Leroy Williams on percussion, to my knowledge one of the few times that the band used a percussionist onstage. Interesting to see how the other videos would progress from this initial offering. Hot Water: This video conveys how fiercely our heroes could rock the party live! Boon's long hair looks cool in contrast to Mark's short cut. Too bad we didn't get more commercial video singles simulating the fellas playing live. Children Say: Great video, with Mark and Mike hanging around out and about...and that little girl is too cute for words. Definitely conveys that "feel good" aura, as others on the digest have pointed out. Keep it funky y'all! "Funky T", a.k.a. From: Carl.Mueller @ per-se.com Date: Fri, 15 Oct 1999 11:01:21 -0700 Hello everyone, It seems a lot of people remembered what they were NOT doing 5 years ago on October 14th, 1994 :-) It's a shame that the recording of the final show has never seen the light of day. Maybe another venture like the recent "TRASH" release? Hmmmm..... apart from some legalities, something to think about, maybe. In related news: John Ramberg has the highest number of "TRASH" reported so far , #59/800. Chris sent in a scan of the Japanese 3 inch cd single of Lessons In Love, with some more stuff to come soon. Details on the TRASH and LATEST NEWS pages! And a special thanks to Tony for setting up the info page: http://www.april.org/~kult/ILF/ If you are going to London in November, please visit the page and fill out the form. Tomorrow (the 16th) is De Superfuif in Utrecht! I'm looking forward to the reports.
