I'm one the the unfortunate few Level42 fans form the US. I live in Chicago, IL and I was able to see L42 perform at Soldiers Field back in 1987. I would love any information I could get on SHEET MUSIC. I love to play L42 music but I don't know where to get the music from. GaDu is a closet ingrate, laughing up his sleeve that he's fooled you all into recommendations when secretly he had the entire BNH/Incognito back catalogue all along. To save otiose quoting, which seems to cause all manner of apoplexy in certain quarters, I will just mention here in an elegantly flowing prose style that Winston referred to Adam Holzman, whose finest hour was surely backup keyboard player to (probably) the finest pianist of the 1990s, Michel Petrucciani. (I actually miss him, you know. I had every expectation of spending the next 40 years following his career.) Anyway, there is a CD featuring a live recording of Petrucciani with Holzman (and the magnificently named percussionist Abdou M'Boup) which I commend to you. Then Mr Flanagan commented on the poor lyric of The Chinese Way (amongst many candidates I feel that the juddering cringes induced by People take that particular prize), also mentioning its ill-suitedness as a show closer. True enough, but if you've sat through three stunning hours of Stevie Wonder, only for him to end with the lighter-waving inanity of I Just Called To Say I Love You, then you too would return home and obliterate the word bathos from your dictionary in protest at its sheer inadequacy. Enough Bee Gees already. Anybody who saw their puerile walkout from some extremely mild ribbing on the Clive Anderson show would surely fail, as I do, to find them less than ludicrous now. Or is this actually a "let's find the most absurd person to proclaim" thread? Personally I always felt that Chas & Dave were very underrated. The 1980s gave us Stock Aitken Waterman, Wham and Margaret Thatcher. The 1990s gave us The Brand New Heavies, Radiohead and Jennifer Lopez in Out Of Sight. Enough said. > Subject: I: Publicly acclaimed reunion? > From: "Magnani Paolo" > > help of people, to re-motivate the football team of our town (this season > was disastrous, > we were declassed in "C" series) to go back in B. Paolo, you have my utmost sympathy. If anyone can enlighten me as to why I am working all hours, desperately trying to sell records to find 260 quid to get a season ticket to see my own recently C'd team hurtle towards another declassification, please help. > Subject: Squeek Squeek Said the Mouse > From: Brian Flint > > Secondly, I think Adam Ant needs to do some more music Yeah, right. Top album all round though. Finally, pick of the week is Hue & Cry's new one, Next Move (since the rapidity of my sexual expertise is now forming the sign-off of the one Digester I know to be an avowed H&C fan, I feel justified in mentioning it.) Another attempt to fuse pop and jazz, and a more confident and successful one than the occasionally unwieldy Jazznotjazz.
