From: Chrisriles @ aol.com Date: Sun, 6 Jun 1999 08:55:52 EDT I've been receiving Digest for some time now, but haven't introduced myself. My name is Chris and I have been a fan for ages. In fact for 12 years. My claim to fame is that I have a personally signed photo of mark and it's my treasured possession. Speak soon. Bye all!! ------------------------------ Subject: Searching for Bill Winston From: lawford42 @ juno.com Date: Sun, 6 Jun 1999 13:17:11 -0400 Hi all- Has anyone out there heard from fellow digester Bill Winston lately? I've been trying to get a hold of him for nearly a month now and I haven't had any luck. Bill, if you're reading this, contact me at lawford42 @ juno.com. Thanks! I may even be able > to provide the venue (the clubhouse at my grandmother's condo complex, > pool, nice room) in San Mateo. Anyone interested can email me directly. Even though I'm in Seattle, I spend quite a bit of time in the bay area (although my usual every-two-or-three month trips down there have gotten a bit less frequent lately). Anyway, if you do organise something down there, please send something to the digest. I'd gladly hop the next shuttle flight down to the city to join you all. ------------------------------ Subject: MK and his Thumb. From: RIZVAN MALIK Date: Sun, 06 Jun 1999 15:39:41 PDT Hi, I hope everyone is well. Did anyone see the Jimi Hendrix documentry on UK TV on the 5th of June. I noticed how the guy plays so well with his thumb on the fret board. I was wondering, does anyone know whether Mark uses his thumb to play the notes on the fret board??? I haven't actually noticed it myself.....but i never lost any sleep about it. Just wondering? Take care Rizvan M. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Subject: FALL ILF99 (Dallas/Ft. Worth) USA From: Mike Payne Date: Sun, 06 Jun 1999 23:31:41 CDT Hello Friends: Firstly, I would like to remind everybody that they are invited to the last USA LEVELFEST TEXAS ROUND-UP 1999 here in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas, USA,if you need information please contact me and/or Sean Green. DATE(s): September 17-19 Main Fest: September 18, 1999 (Sat) I do know that we have a special guest (traveling the furthest, so far) Charl Mocke of South Africa. Also, from what it look like it should be the largest fest we have had here in DFW. Sean and myself have plenty of space for everybody and will try to accommodate everybody. Also, we (I) will provide FREE airport transportation for any incoming guest. Please try to get with me/Sean ASAP so we can start planning this fest, as we have the luxury of some time to arrange some really kickin'things! If you cannot go to Mark's gigs in Nov/Dec maybe this might be a more economical way of meeting many of the fellow digesters from across the pond. I truly cannot wait, what a nice way to end the year 1999 here in Texas (USA). Well, anyway, had a nice time over the weekend, I would like to thank Kristin Lage for a nice time on Sunday night. We went out for dinner at Outback Steakhouse and ate ourselves silly then went to play mini-golf (Nice puts on 18 Kristin, LOL) and went to the batting cages, WHEW! Thanks again, Kristin...too bad Sean Green whimped out on us! :) I got to hear some of the stories from the ILF (NYC), sounds like a GREAT time was had by all. I wish that I could have been there. Well, until next time have a safe week! Best and Kind Regards, Mikey42 _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Unlike everyone else, it seems that I had a fairly uneventful return home. My flights were only delayed about 20 minutes, so aside from some pretty steady tubulence, things went quite smoothly for me! I wish I could say I'm happy to be home, but I'd much rather go back to the beginning of the trip and start things all over again. So on to the subject of this message. After talking to a few of you about the Mark King gigs, it seems that most of you didn't see the pictures I put up there. Just in case you all missed them, they can be seen at: http://www.neurotoxin.net/~djames/mk_tour1.html I wondered how come the hit counter was so low! Anyway, there are seven pages of pictures from Leicester, London, Wolverhapmton, Ireland and Paris. Enjoy! ------------------------------ Subject: MK live in Saarbrucken From: lol @ slr.se Date: Mon, 7 Jun 1999 11:10:14 +0200 Any of you digesters who live near Saarbrucken in Germany will be lucky on 25th of July when Mark will appear at the Karlsberg ComPop. It seems that Mark will appear together with Patricia Kaas and Roger Hodgson (Supertramp) and a 75-piece symphony orchestra. So it's a bit like the NOTP. From: "David Jacobs (Server 1)" Date: Mon, 7 Jun 1999 10:19:28 +0100 In response to Eric W's comments in the digest - I just thought I'd have to reply with the obvious 'sad gits' retort to the following lines: >>11) I don't make Level 42 midi's from the sound chip of a Sinclair ZX 81 >>computer. The said computer in fact, never had any kind of sound chip - although its' DIY predecessor the ZX80 did! - Strange that, isn't it?! As for the rest of the comments, I guess.....no I won't say a word, as that might be perceived as bullying?!
