From: "S. Gallegos" Date: Wed, 26 May 1999 03:16:40 -0700 Hello everyone! As you all know, we have just survived our trek across the desert into Sin City (Vegas - for those who have never heard that : ) with the Muellers. A fabulous time was had by all....and we learned the finer points of walking the Strip! (8 miles on foot later - at 4am too!) Upon our return, we dressed, drove and went to see Seal at the Greek theatre. In we walk....trying to get our bearings for the show had already begin. As we cross the aisle, Ad notices a familiar bass rig....and a certain bald head playing a mean bass with funk fingers. Wanna guess what we hollered out? Yes, ladies and gents - Tony Levin. Whoo hoo! Well, reporting from the first leg of the Adz World Tour, I have to say a good time was had by all. Tomorrow I get to take him to the airport to the East Coast handoff - your turn Win! Take care all....and lets take NY by storm! See you soon. Loads of love Shan and Adz ------------------------------ Subject: Famous L42 Fans From: "Dabbs, Steve" Date: Wed, 26 May 1999 12:15:24 +0100 "does anyone know of any other famous level 42 fans.?..i think lenny henry might be one..... " Prior to her death, Princess Diana was a keen L42 fan. I also have a very old player profile at home of the Scottish footballer Richard Gough and he states his favorite band is L42. Kind regards, Steve ------------------------------ Subject: Railway From: Jody Mann Date: Tue, 30 Mar 1999 11:51:09 -0800 Hey Everyone! I'm sorry this is a bit off topic but....how many of you have interests in the railroad..trains? This is just a simple questionnaire i'm conducting and it would be greatly appreciated if you could reply..thanks so much. if so..favorite railroad company too? ------------------------------ Subject: Famous bods From: Tom Brown Date: Wed, 26 May 1999 12:43:28 +0000 Hi Folks >does anyone know of any other famous level 42 fans.?..i think lenny henry >might be one..... Bruno Brookes is a big fan Chris Evans also, but he didn't bother getting Mark on TFI did he ? Git ! That's All -T It's strange, isn't it. You stand in the middle of a library and go 'Aaaaaaagghhhh' and everyone just stares at you. But you do the same thing on an aeroplane, and everyone joins in. ------------------------------ Subject: Virus Update From: EMIKATIE @ aol.com Date: Wed, 26 May 1999 08:20:51 EDT No lie !!!!! I updated my Norton Anti-virus program this morning and it installed new virus profiles. Since my last update a week ago, it installed..... yup..... 42 new profiles. Thanks to Chernobyl......this is a weekly ritual and should be yours as well. The machine stops, John ------------------------------ Subject: Turn it on From: "Neil Gray" Date: Wed, 26 May 1999 13:49:49 +0100 Just to let you know that Spectrum have re-issued the "Turn it on " Cd . The track listing is exactly the same but the cover is different. A good buy at £6.99 if you dont have the first issue, a big rip off if you don't. Would be interested if anybody else has bought this album. P.S Are there any official fan clubs running for L42/Mark King at the moment, if so any details would be greatfully received. P.P.S have I missed something ? Why are there entries to the digest relating to Hue and Cry, is there a connection between them and Level42 ? ------------------------------ Subject: RE: Fully Booked From: "Hughes, Craig" Date: Wed, 26 May 1999 14:26:32 +0100 I had my photo took with Tim Vincent at the Shepherds Bush Gig. My girlfriend has it by had desk (she fancied Tim when he was in some hospital programme years ago) and she loves it. Craig ------------------------------ Subject: MK in Denmark!! Last night I dreamt that Mark King proposed to me. I was sitting at a table in a restaurant and Mark King sat across from me and asked me to be Mrs. King... Does this label me as crazy? (Actually, I think Mr. King is quite handsome.) I chalk this dream up to a couple of things: I just got the One Man CD; the NY Levelfest is this weekend; and I guess I have a secret hope that Mark would show up to the NY Levelfest. --Jennifer "...I'm wrestling with a new ideal... I have a strong recollection that Princess Diana was a big fan. Fortunately this was forgotten at the time of her death, the thought of Running in the Family '97 echoing the hallowed halls of westminster is just too much to bear. I can also count myself as a famous fan, as I once, about 15 years ago, cycled into Richard Stilgoe's car on my paper round, and am thus something of a celebrity around these parts. From: powerfm @ mail.netconnect.com.au Date: Thu, 27 May 1999 08:51:51 +1000 Hi there! I just got back from a trip to Tullamarine Airport to see off my bro Garron, who's headed to England to work!! Lucky blighter. Anyway..on the way down I listened to all of "White Funky" and the second half of "Physical Presence". Just out of Melb. on the return journey, I put on "Live at Wembley" in its entirety. During the trip I set my cruise control to average 115 km/h and set my stopwatch..... So???? Well, if any Aussie Digester can tell me how long the trip took, (both ways, mind...and remember I travelled from Ballarat) I'll send you a copy of my L42 JPEG disc. Closest entry wins. Why am I doing this??? 'Cos we all don't talk enuff!!!! (And can anyone tell me why Musicman stopped making basses with string-thru ferrules?? Mine doesn't have them but earlier ones do!) "Good news, thanks for comin' along....." "PS. German and Dutch aren't really comparable. Most Dutch do speak German, because (before cable) we used to watch a lot of German tv as well, and it is taught as an obligatory subject in the first three years of secondary school." And back on topic, it's a sunny day in London, definately weather to listen to Crystal Palace '91 Fantastic stuff !
