Both the song, the lyrics and the style of this band felt very Level-ish! Their website, http://www.danskmedia.com/hangar18/, contains some ra-clips of their music, but I had problems getting it all to work. But have a look, and see what you think! I have only heard Going... It felt very much Level 42, but I could not find any reference to L42 on their pages... /Frans ------------------------------ Subject: Internet survey ?? From: Kay Anthony Date: Thu, 13 May 1999 14:59:24 +0100 Hi all This is only an idea, but I notice that on yesterday's digest that some readers were wondering how many digesters come from particular countries. Why don't we do a survey to see the global spread of digesters. I reckon the US has the largest number, followed by the UK then perhaps Holland. What do you all reckon ? I will start: UK - 1 digester + Bilal, Mrs. Pink, Nigel C, Raymond P, Paul Hammond, Bill Miller, Fiona K, Cath B, Clare Reeves, Lisa Hack, Brian M, Jennie, Lorna, Lisa Devlin, Andy Smith, Matthew Robins, Loz, makes a total of: 18 so far for the UK. ------------------------------ Subject: Want to borrow P&P From: phydoux @ xmission.com (Michael Monsen) Date: Thu, 13 May 1999 16:13:33 GMT Is there anybody on the digest that would be willing to let me borrow their copy of P&P for, say, a week? I'm located in Utah, USA. I'll pay postage in both directions.... -- Michael Monsen | If a tree fell on a florist, and phydoux @ xmission.com | nobody was around to hear it, http://www.xmission.com/~phydoux | would he make a noise? ------------------------------ Subject: Mike Lindup site From: Bilal42 @ aol.com Date: Thu, 13 May 1999 18:28:07 EDT Thank you all for your feedback - keep it coming! Just to clarify - we already have both domains: www.mikelindup.com & www.mike-lindup.com Carry on voting, its pretty even at the moment. The reason we asked for your vote was to find out what you wanted the site to be known as. Both URLs will point to the site. Furthermore, the site will go live when ready, that should be soon. Thanks to various digest members, there is plenty of content ready and some very good ideas too. I am keen for people to be involved as I know Mike is quite special to us all. Some really good ideas have come through from digesters already - well done! As for Mike's own wishes / involvement - I have not been able to get any feedback from Mike (its been over a month now). Paul Hammond says he managed to contact him somehow, so hopefully Paul can help us get in touch and tell Mike about the project. As for the domain names - if Mike wants them, thats the least I can do for him. I bought them to keep them out of the hands of any greedy money makers. I will gladly hand them over to Mike. Thank you - keep the feedback coming Bilal ------------------------------ Subject: nothing remotely on-topic From: BHConrad @ aol.com Date: Thu, 13 May 1999 18:34:29 EDT Eric - SK is Slovakia. I know because I emailed our L42 fan there and was planning to go there this summer (and the UK in August), but both plans are off. Eire and Turkey are possibilities, though. I'm playing softball this summer and there is a woman on my team from Oz (Australia) and 2 guys from the U.K. Loz - do you know an Andrew Jackson from Sheffield? :) [I have first dibs on uniform #42] Bruce..........synkronized? //members.aol.com/bhconrad/index.html ------------------------------ Subject: To all my friends... From: joesmie @ pacbell.net Date: Thu, 13 May 1999 19:38:17 -0700 Heya, Headz!! You know, as I sit here influenced by pain meds (I've been to the dentist) and blissfully listen to Unreached Levels, I reflect on what the Digest has brought to me... What an enrichment to my life it has been. I have made so many friends and have been privy to so much relevant to a band I love like no other... thank you. To Carl, and Winston, and Dirkies, and Bill W., and Zaphod, and everyone here at the Digest... You all have given me much that cannot be made ordinary. Thanks, all of you, for the love, generosity and willingness to share. I can do nothing but smile, shake my head, and do what I can. I'm sure tomorrow that when this bounces to my mailbox, I'll hit myself in the head for posting, but for now... what a world it is with friends like you!! -Pink Visit me on DALnet, #IRCBAR... look for MrPink! ------------------------------ Subject: Fw: * LEVEL 42 stock list * From: "Ronald Kuipers" Date: Fri, 14 May 1999 08:02:55 +0200 For those of you who are interested I forwarding this message -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: Relentless Aan: Recipient list suppressed Datum: donderdag 13 mei 1999 14:09 Onderwerp: * LEVEL 42 stock list * >Hello, > >Listed below is my current LEVEL 42 stock as at 13/5/1999. > >IF THERE ARE OTHER ARTISTS YOU WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE STOCK LISTS ON, PLEASE >GET IN CONTACT. > > >ALL ITEMS ARE UK ISSUES, IN AT LEAST 'EXCELLENT' CONDITION & IN PICTURE >SLEEVE (P/S) WHERE ISSUED, UNLESS STATED. If you go to the Esprit website today there's a 12" promo of Clocks Go Forward which is fairly rare I think. Actually, I'd buy it if it wasn't for the fairly outrageous 35 quid price tag! For anyone interested, the website address is http://www.eil.co.uk/eil/eil4day.txt I'm STILL after the Something About You CDV, so if anyone sees a spare copy anywhere PLEASE let me know.
