I'm expressing myself as others did, that is my right correct? The matter was brought to my attention on THIS digest. I didn't stumble on it and bring it to the digest. So with that in mind I felt that my feelings should be made to the digest. Yes, he did apologized and that holds a little merit now that I had the chance to think about it. In closing how can you be proud of me taking a stance in this matter, and yet chastise me for letting my stance known to you and everybody. P.S. These jokes in any language are still messed up. You know Sean, the bottom line is who cares how you, me, or anybody feels about anything here? Come to think about it how often do we have an issue that is ONLY about Level 42? That IS why I like it. We expand our minds and our souls "...Also being a black man made it even worse because I had to have a white man translate what it meant. Clarification: These jokes in any language are still messed up. Reese ------------------------------ Subject: Quid Pro Quo From: EMIKATIE Date: Sun, 5 Apr 1998 19:35:15 EDT List As the time is upon us to formally wish that impeccable groovster from Down Under, Mr. Jeff Mahoney, may I be the first to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF!!!! You see, a long time ago, 42 years, 364 days ago, to be exact, (at the time of this writing ) when I was a mere 3 days old, Jeff was born. He in the Southern Hemisphere and me in the Northern. Only through the digest did I come to know this extraordinary chap. The two hemispheres collide and become one. He is now 43 and another of the senior members. Welcome aboard Jeff. As he may be one of the most distant members, let's all wish him a happy birthday. But quickly though as by the time you read this, it'll already be tomorrow for him. Hmmm...... can Eric post the digest counterclockwise this one time so that he gets it today for us which would be yesterday for him? How about it Eric ? The machine stops John ------------------------------ Subject: One question... From: Lolitaj Date: Sun, 5 Apr 1998 21:44:07 EDT What do the jokes have to do with Level 42? I'm wondering why a)they were a link on the person's page and b)why someone felt the need to post them here. I am black, and I don't speak Spanish. I could tell, however, that they were about black people (negra gave that away) and I promptly scrolled down because I had no interest in finding out about them. My silence was a refusal to waste my time acknowledging how idiotic it is to tell racist jokes. Why give attention to something like that? Lolita ------------------------------ Subject: CD and record fair From: Henri.Blakenburg @ DUT.RWS.minvenw.nl Date: Mon, 6 Apr 98 7:41:01 +0200 Hai there, Last saterday i was at the international cd and record fair in Utrecht/Holland. Searching for L42 items. The only thing i didn't see before was a white flexi vinyl of "love games live" from 1985 (10 UKponds, that's to much). I saw Maarten Gorter also searching. There was a tourprogramm of the "true colours" i wanna buy, but the salesman had only one, and soled it just a few minutes earlier. So i didn't buy any L42 stuff. But i did buy 2 GREAT live bootlegs: "Legends" live at Nort sea jazz festival 1997 (2cd) featuring: - Marcus Miller (!!) , Eric Clapton, David Sanborn, Joe Sample and Steve Gadd. And "Defunkt" live at jazz open 1996 in Stuttgart, Germany. (does someone know them??) That's all folks. Adios so many amigos. Henri. ------------------------------ Subject: Re the Prodigy From: Bill Leslie-Miller Date: Mon, 06 Apr 1998 08:43:26 +0000 To the lead guitarist of L43 & pal Will O'Shea Will, i'm sorry if you don't like the Prodigy, however at the practice we had yesterday (Sunday) i'm sure your guitar bit in the middle of Heaven In My Hands sounded just like the intro to 'Breathe' !!!! hee hee joking Bill Miller
