From: dirk.vael @ ArthurAndersen.com Date: Mon, 9 Mar 1998 12:09:36 +0100 Oh yeah, btw at the LLLF2 we saw a video with excerpts of a live gig in 1985... guess what, it was one of the three gigs where A Physical Presence was compiled of... !!! Same clothes, same fan behind Phil... some of the camera shots were absolutely identical to the photo's of esp. Mark & Boon... And the sound was, as Walter noticed aswell, VERY VERY similar to what we all have on the CD ;-) So these gigs WERE really recorded on film! So the guy who claimed seeing the laserdisc of APP in Japan could be right after all... TBC Dirk ------------------------------ Subject: What's Mr. Lindup up to these days? From: getjakeit @ webtv.net (Jake Lennington) Date: Mon, 9 Mar 1998 07:20:39 -0600 I'm seem to know what Mark, Boon, and Phil are doing, but I never can seem to find out what Mike is doing. Is he doing a new CD? Is he still driving around Europe? Ect... Thanks, Jake ------------------------------ Subject: Dont Panic From: "LOZ Green" Date: Mon, 9 Mar 1998 13:39:32 -0000 Ever since I realised we were on 555 subscribers I have been living a life of fear, burrying my head under the duvet for 22 hours a day in a osterich/sand type ritual. Those of you familiar with the sport 'Cricket' will understand why. It is considered unlucky when playing cricket for the score at any time to be made up of the same number repeatedly, like 111, 222, 77, and something like 222 for 2 is an absolute nightmare. Its called a 'nelson' but I dont know why. When it happens players and umpires have their own little foibles they always do, one umpire stands on one leg and hops, and like, sometimes the score doesnt change for half an hour and there he is hopping away, others will just stick their tongues out or something. In order to be completely safe I've invented nelson safe ~~rituals for the keyboard, try tapping a few ampersands &&& and the odd tilde ~~~ But before any of you get those life insurance policies out, theres no need to worry! I am 2 subscribers!!!! Yes, I never unsubscribed my old account from university so technically I am 2 people! I guess that means at least one other subscriber will agree with me, although thats not always the case, as sometimes one half of me cant tell what the other is doing, and believe me, that has its advantages ;-). This all being the case, I dont knoe whether eric can form some sort of queue of people wanting to join the digest in future, so the actual 555 th member will have to wait till the 556 both come along, then we can all rest assured that there will be no inconvienient mishaps. Blimey, I dont now what we'll do when we get to 66*, perhaps it'll be best to call the hole thing off!!!!! So whenever were on 555, ampersands and tildes are the order of the day &&& ~~ best to be safe than sorry (probably best we leave hashes well alone). Errrr, I guess I ought write something about Level 42 now. Hey, I sent off my application for my PHd!!!! I guess I have to be really self motivated to do one, but I reckon Ill get one as long as I leave out page 11, 22, 33, 44 etc etc etc. Well, next month we can expect all the hype that goes with a new release when the new greatest hits album comes out, lets just hope all the stuff is remastered &&& really well. Well, I cant wait around here all day, Im off. Bye..............LOZ &~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~ ------------------------------ Subject: Gary Husband on TV. From: Rob Steen Date: 09 Mar 98 17:52 +0000 Hi All, Long time no post. Anyway, did anyone see Gary on Room 606 (I think it's called that) last Wednesday? Sorry about being so long in asking I've been away from e-mail. He was playing keyboards with Billy Cobhamm with a nice tight little funky jazzy instrumental number. I was flicking channels when I caught sight of him and jumped at the VCR, I missed quite a bit, but got some of it. The music was great, I never realised he was such a good keyboard player. I was just wondering if anyone else saw it and what they thought. Have Fun, Rob Steen. ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Level42 Digest V98 #41 From: JazPhreek @ aol.com Date: Mon, 9 Mar 1998 13:13:49 -0500 (EST) Speaking of Lukather, weren't Toto the musicians behind Boz Scagg's "Silk Degrees" album and Cheryl Lynn's "Got to be real?" I'm pretty sure I heard that somewhere... ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Level42 Digest V98 #56 From: JazPhreek @ aol.com Date: Mon, 9 Mar 1998 14:07:19 -0500 (EST) Laurel, I'm already there. You just give me the details and I will be there! ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Level42 Digest V98 #60 From: JazPhreek @ aol.com Date: Mon, 9 Mar 1998 14:20:55 -0500 (EST) Lolita, how fotunate you are to have gotten to see Maysa with a live band. It sounded like it was a phenomenal concert. I saw her here in San Diego, minus the band. She had a sequencer? Which she sang along with. I didn't like that too much, but was great to hear her sing nonetheless. Is this a tour or just a NY thing? Thanks for the info. Glad you had a good time. I will try to find more as usual though..... Cheers paul F
