I'll have to listen to both side by side tonight. You can definitely tell that the song is co-written by Wally, but linking it directly might be a stretch. Speaking of Wally, are there any other fans of the song Novela das Nove? That is my favorite by him. Andre - I have a friend from NY who is now attending the University of Rotterdam business school. I would like to hook him up with you if that's OK. Let me know if its cool, and I'll give him your e-mail address. Bram - Missed you lots! What's up? I hope everything is well. Dirkies - Did you get my check? I sent it last month. If so, when can I get my stuff? Rob - You'll have fun in Paris. You might want to hook up with Morgan and Tony Bassette while you are there. We had a ball last June - they are really funny and Morgan can match the best of us with his fervor for the band. If you do hook up with them and time allows, get Morgan to play the bass for you - you won't regret it. Lolita ------------------------------ Subject: Speaking of Echoes... From: Chuck Roehm Date: Mon, 12 Jan 1998 14:24:04 +0000 Hey all! Just taking a five minute break from fatherhood to try and get a word in edgewise. Man, taking care of twins is a lot of work; I have a new respect for my wife. They are irresistible, though. > Another observation concerns Wally Badarou's album "Echoes". This was Funny that you mention "Echoes". I've been meaning to ask if anybody out there could find this CD for me. Since it was released in '83, I'm sure it's got to be pretty hard to find, (probably nonexistent in the US) but I thought maybe someone in Europe would know how to find a copy. I have some of the songs on tape, thanks to Winston, but I'd love to have the whole thing to add to my Level collection. Also, I still haven't been able to get the RCA version of FN. Can anybody help with that one? I'm sure that's an easier one to find, but I can't get it locally and cdnow has failed me twice. If anyone would like to help a poor soul, please e-mail me privately. :-) Thanks a million. Chuck ------------------------------ Subject: US Physical Presence CD's From: paul fucito Date: Mon, 12 Jan 1998 11:10:41 -0500 I have located two copies of the Physical Presence CD (US Version) un openned and NOT (I repeat NOT) budget bin cutouts. Both cost about $12.00 and I can pick them up if anybody is looking for them... E-mail me... paul F ------------------------------ Subject: Electronic LevelFest! From: Jeff Grous Date: Mon, 12 Jan 1998 09:48:48 -0800 Hi, everybody! What a blast it was to chat on Sunday with Lars-Ove, Eric, Adam and Colin on IRC. Years ago (back when I first got into BBSing), the Open Forum or Group Chat was always my very favorite (like the CB Simulator on Compu$erve), and this is exactly the same, complete with ANSI colors and .WAV sound. Cool! Ya'll have to show up next Sunday. In my original post on the IRC thing, I got something wrong- I stated that the channel was "#Level_42", with an underscore space. This is NOT correct. The channel is "#Level42", no underscore. Sorry about that. I hope no one came out and couldn't find the channel, because the real one does NOT show up on the channel listings (it's a "secret" channel). If anyone wants to know more about IRC or how to get there or how to configure mIRC (the chat client), you can E-mail me and I'll be glad to try to help. I'm completely new to it, but I've muddled through the annoyingly confusing bits and can offer you a jump-start to at least get you there. Hope to see more people there next Sunday. Download mIRC 5.3 and come on out- it's a blast! -Jeff "Should an actual emergency occur during the flight, a flight attendent will bring you a drink." ------------------------------ Subject: 'NEW' COMPILATION RELEASED !!! Walton" Date: Mon, 12 Jan 1998 14:49:19 -0500 Has there been any definite word on an L.A. Levelfest? Or anywhere in California? I know travel has been a bit of a pain lately due to the weather (at least up here in Northern California!), have plans been delayed til that's less of a factor? If nothing's in the works, I have a nice big living room and a Level-friendly husband, I could host something in Sacramento...:-) --Robin ------------------------------ Subject: IRC Chat room From: AH Date: Mon, 12 Jan 1998 21:52:30 -0000 Hey headz, On Sunday I went to the L42 chat room again. And for the first time ever, there were some poeple in there! (Big hello to Jeff, Eric, Laz and Colin). Well done Jeff.....for kicking our backsides, maybe we will see more of the 546 digest subscribers in there in the weeks to come. If you want to chat about L42, swap sounds and images go there. If your not sure how to, check out Jeff's posting in the digest V98 #4 (I got there by following his instructions). Untill next Sunday, Cheers Adam Hankinson.
