From: "Andre Huijts" Date: Sun, 11 Jan 1998 12:57:59 +0100 Well......I really am very sorry but just like last year I am forced to move the date for the LowLandsLevelFeest. It is not caused by my skiingholiday this time, but has some other serious cause. Never mind that, just please note that the SECOND L O W L A N D S L E V E L F E E S T will be held on: S A T U R D A Y, F E B R U A R Y 2 8 1 9 9 8 starting from 10.00 AM Dutch time ;) ! Just like last year I have forced my wife to leave the house for this day (geee I envy you guys/girls who have lovers that like Level 42 !), so we will be meeting there at 10.00 AM. Every digest member who is in the Netherlands surroundings at that time is herewith invited to join in the fun ! ! Regarding the reactions I got last year, I know everyone had a great time, and I hope this time will be even more spectacular. I have arranged a HIFI VCR with NTSC playback capability, so we can watch Winston's great tapes with some very exclusive material. And maybe we can watch the "freshly" taped Rockpalast gigs in full stereo ???? (Sorry Lars-Ove, I still haven't succeeded in converting the tapes WITH sound. but do not dispair. I _will_ get it to work). Of course everyone is encouraged to bring his (hers ???) "special" Level 42 items. Also the things brought last year (like the Music Maker magazines and the FanClub books) are very welcome again (I haven't seen them all ;) And there will be some "new" folks very interested in them...... If someone has (or can lend) a Laserdisc player, he/she is very much invited to bring it along ;) ! Also people who own MiniDisc equipment are very much encouraged to demonstrate it's power (Dirk are you listening ;) !) Well maybe we can do some CD/Record store shopping again like last year, or do anything else outdoors. It is a nice brake for the day, to get a fresh nose. If some people feel the urge to bring some instruments, that would be great too. The neighboors are informed about the LLLF too ! O and people who were there last year: This year there will be NO cameracrew to make us nervous and asking stupid questions, so we can relax a bit more ! ;) SO if you would like to join, have suggestions or any questions, please send me an e-mail with your confirmation for your attendence. Here's the address: huijts @ worldonline.nl I will e-mail back, with the neccesary information. People who are curious about last year's LLLF, take a look at the Official LowLandsLevelFeest site. The URL is: http://home.worldonline.nl/~huijts/index.html P.S. Take a look at the list of my collection on this site ( http://home.worldonline.nl/~huijts/42.txt ), if you would like to bring Level CDs or vinyl. It's not much sense dragging the stuff around if it is already here. Please note my collection has grown quite a bit last year, so "experienced" LLLF visiters are also encouraged to take a look. On some intervals I will send a list of people who I have e-mailed, (and if they will or will not attend) to the digest. Could please also people who have already let me know some time ago, that they intended to attend, confirm if they still will, regarding the changed date ? Thanks ! I'm going to be there this Friday until the following Tuesday. If there's anybody there who wants to get together just for a drink (some Pernod, perhaps?) or something and discuss L42 or whatever, let me know before this Thursday. Hope to see ya! -Rob ********************************************************* Rob Kadel Department of Sociology Emory University Atlanta, GA 30322 (404) 727-7510 http://userwww.service.emory.edu/~rkadel/ ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Level42 Digest V98 #4 From: DonZipf Organization: AOL (http://www.aol.com) Date: Sun, 11 Jan 1998 13:37:21 EST > Another observation concerns Wally Badarou's album "Echoes". Ssshhh! Remember, there is no "selling" here, only reimbursement of expenses. Careful, now. Happy New Year, Hedz - Z. ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Thanks everybody!!! From: Carl Mueller Date: Sun, 11 Jan 1998 11:16:48 -0800 Hey everybody, Now that all the technical problems are fixed (don't you just love computers? %-]), here's my message from friday: Thank you so much for all the congratulations for Laurel and I. (To Jeff: Aahhh, wiseguy, eh? Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk ;-]) Laurel will be graduating in june with her Bachelor's in English, I have a brand new job (started last month) in computers, so it looks like a lot will be going on this year. I sincerely hope that we'll be able to go to London, but we'll see what happens. Thanks again, and see you all soon (hopefully) Carl ------------------------------ Subject: Electronic Levelfest From: lo.larsson @ zeiss.se Date: Sun, 11 Jan 1998 22:19:40 +0100 I have just experienced a little high-tech levelfesting. Well, actually a double simultaneous global levelfest. I was on the IRC with Eric, Adam, Jeff Grous and Colin Jenolen. At the same time I spoke to Mike Payne in Texas over the phone. It was WILD! If I get time I'll check back into IRC next week to see if we are more then. I'm also downloading the demo of Quake II ;-) By the way, if you've ever wondered what I look like you can now see my left side at the bottom right on http://www.semaphore.fr/level42/fanlist.htm. The right side looks basically the same but opposite. Lars-Ove Larsson ------------------------------ Subject: Allan Holdsworth recommendation?
