From: "Andre Huijts" Date: Sat, 19 Dec 1998 14:52:05 +0100 Hi there, Like, does anyone know if there are still tickets for the London Mark King gig ??????? I looked at the reservation site, but there's no indication if tickets are still available. Also can somebody tell me what the difference is between "unreserved" and "Level 1" tickets is ? And what kind of tickets do all of you 48 people have ???? Henri and me can't wait any longer for Dutch gig dates, and besides it would be great fun to spend the gig (and some more time) with so many digesters....and seeing Winston and Lolita again would be great too....and meeting Carl and Laurel finaly....and all others of course ! I am currently arranging travel. We will probably travel by car and cross with Hoverspeed. Anyone know a cheap place to stay in London ??? Something like B&B would do great. (Hey I'm on a tight budget, will go on ski-holiday a couple of weeks later.....and of course we are Dutch after all) Helga & Wilma of course will be there too ! If any other Dutch digesters are willing to join, please let me know ! ! ! Groetjes, Andre "Cold sun in a wet rocky sky, a broken beach where the waves come to die...." From: Daniel Venema Date: Sat, 19 Dec 1998 15:18:38 +0100 Hi all, This morning my order from CDNow arrived. Okay, it's no CD from Level or Mark, but Madonna's Ray of Light. Something immediately struck me: just listen to the start of the second song on Madonna's album, it's called "Swim". Sound familiar? I think so, the guitar seems to come straightly from Bitter Moon!!! Do any of you share my findings? I see imports of pretty much the entire catalog all the time. But they're like $20. not that they're not WORTH it, but you get my meaning...then there are the current three American CDs available. 3) How MUCH? These releases, if they were part of a typical PGD catalog focus, would be mid priced. Remastering might change this. when the YES and Genesis CDs were remastered (and in the case of the double albums, repackaged), There was a concern about the pricing of these titles, so they were all left(pretty much) mid priced, and they have done pretty well as such. I have no idea when the new UNIgram meets to discuss their 1999 line, but BMG has sales meetings first week of January. So if "Guaranteed" and "Forever Now" are being planned,it will be brought up then. - D M "I don't know, Norman...with all your running around and panicking, what have you accomplished?"- Sam Jackson, "Sphere". ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Subject: Yesterdays' Digest From: poap42 @ webtv.net (Antonio Perez) Date: Sat, 19 Dec 1998 16:44:14 -0500 (EST) Greetings from the Bronx! I enjoyed reading yesterday's digest as it was both pleasant and informative(especially Mr. Green's post). I hope everyone has the Christmas spirit in them. I've been running around like a chicken without a head(due to overtime and Christmas shopping) so I finally caught up reading the last two weeks of digests. I'm going to cancel my webtv account next month but I can still be reached on aol. poap42 @ aol.com (I hope Morgan is reading this so he can update the fan list, as well as posting my pic on it :-) To Mr. Payne. I'm surprised you still remember me after all thses years. Your apology is accepted. There is no need for me to file a grievance on the digest. I'm not about to join the 'flame' bandwagon. To those who are wondering if I ever received a response from cd 101. The answer is nope. I'll try to mail a follow-up letter. IMHO Love Wars or One Man are the next best candidates as second single. Do I smell another NY 'fest. Hmmmm! I hope everyone is in a festive mood. Merry Christmas everyone! Feliz Navidad y prospero ano nuevo! I've got all my albums up to "Forever now" and i'm gettin' "Tired of waiting" for the next one. Am I missing something? Somebody help me! Does anybody knows if L42 will ever come to Canada? Would like to get my hands on a copy. I tried cdnow.com but it is not available. 2) The song "Stay(Wasting Time)" from the The Dave Matthews Band current release Before These Crowded Streets has a horn section which sounds similar to "Hot Water". Anyone agree? 3) Since MK is making a few stops in South America next year, how about making North America part of his itinerary? Antonio Perez :-)
