I looked up at http://www.mabi.de/~marsch/rp/rn14.html#level the following text about the concert rerun on WDR. Since it was in German and most of you can't read that, I thought I'd translate it for you. However since I'm completely selftaught in German I thought it best to use Altavista's new translating software at http://babelfish.altavista.digital.com/ The results were astounding as you can see for yourselves. Wait a minute, I live (well in four days I will be living in) Newark. I thought the scene was dead years ago, what happened when I wasn't looking? Anyway, I'm glad to hear that things are picking up, maybe I can finally find a LOCAL paying bass gig instead of having to drive up to Philly all the time. I had heard the name "The Vibe" batted around, but never came across a schedule. This will be rectified immediately! I will send a second message in hopes of salvaging my opinion of you supposed "Levelheads". (I'm really not that mad, I'm just trying to get your attention!) At the end of "Heaven In My Hands" Mark King sings sort of a background solo: "Go with you anywhere..." What are the rest of the words??? The second song is "Something About You" off the "Live at Wembley" CD where the band stops playing and starts singing: "Something 'bout the way you are, Can't go back we've gone too far...." What are the remaining lyrics on this one? Also, if anyone has any extra L42 CDs that they would like to sell, please, please, please e-mail me!! He was 40. The Austrian-born singer and songwriter, whose original name was Johann Holzel, suffered a severe head injury when his sport utility vehicle collided with a bus as he was pulling onto a highway Friday evening near the resort of Puerto Plata. He died at a Puerta Plata hospital. There were no other injuries in the crash. Police detained the bus driver, but no charges have been filed. Police said Falco was vacationing at the resort, one of the most popular tourism destinations in this Caribbean country, especially among Europeans. Falco was a classical music child prodigy who turned to pop music. His albums featured the synthesizer-based pop rock that was popular in the 1980s. His hits included "Der Kommisar," "Rock Me Amadeus," and "Vienna Calling." Officials at the hospital where he died said his body was moved to Luis Eduardo Aybar Hospital in Santiago, about 35 miles south of Puerto Plata, where an autopsy would be performed. I'm not a writer or what so excusse my strange way of writing. And i know i'm looking at the concert as a fan, not a critical person. Also i think it's very differcult to explain a live concert, you've got to seen/hear it. Before L42 started we saw "Primus" play. A friend said: "What a great bassplayer "Primus" got!! I didn't say anything, just thinking "Wait till ya see Mark" After AT (with a difference solo Boon & Mike, i suppose it change every concert) my friends agreed at once, Mark is a hell of a bassplayer. TIO has a nice different line in the middle of the song. And Mark speaks (a very little) German. Krys Mach saxsolo at TCHB was a little strange, it sounds like his output was connect to Mike's keys. Mr.P is one of my favorits, had a different solo Mark. At his solo our boys pumped up the ritme to play on a higher level. Mike's keys where not hear very well, to much on the background. Mark is tuning his bass at IWE, while Mike's solo has echo effects. Before starting KCM Mark says he has got a little problem tuning his bass, but the audience never mind. The nice saxsolo was already mentioned by Ernst-Jan. Also one of my favorites is TPOA preformed EXCELLENT live with funky guitarriffs by Boon. But what a great bassplayer we've got. Mark is really a KING on the bass. Boon even started his solo by playing on the guitarneck for a second. Mike played a nice solo, fast on his keys. Kouyate was preformed EXCELLENT. Mark and Phil behind the percussion. Phil has got non so Mark likes to hit the thin crash. GREAT. TSGD(LIU) Mark tries to playback Mike's vocals. Boon sings with audience "living it up". After the audience has shout for a "zugabe" Mike returns on stage as first. Mark comes behind him already playing his bass backstage and starts his solo with "Dune tune" wich ends with his speedy basssolo. Phil plays syncronical with Mark. Well i can tell ya my friends eyes turned to be bigger and they where very suprised (altrough i did warned them). At the start of LG Mark is saying (without mic) something into the camera. Enybody who can read lips can tell me what he is saying? Mike sings:"We can play one more" while Mark sings: "We can play no more" (laughing to Mike). The interview was kind of weird. Mike had to explain why he needed bad wheater to write emotional music. You've got to see Mike's face while the German girl translait it. He's smiling more and more. At the answer of a quistion Boon get some little things thrown to his face. You can see Boon was glad his interview was over. Q:"So there is little L42 can't do, this is the end of the interview, we look back to the stage". Mark:"What about a-cappella ? We don't do that." And than Mark and Mike started: Tumm, tumm, tumm etc. Than: "Ooonnn, hmmmm, hake, hake, mmmmmmm, yaaa, yaaa" or something like that for two times. After that Phil get into it for the last complet. At least Mike would like to go on. All about 25 seconds. That was the a-cappella thing. You've got to see that. Well it was worth to go to bed at 04:45 in the morning, and gladly my VCR didn't broke up !! It was not Levels best concert i've seen, but already mentioned by others, Rockpalast 2 (the concert of 29-10-'83) is a little better. So i'm really looking forward to that one !! BUT FIRST LLLF PART 2 !!! Yoooh, Andre, i'm counting down !!! Well, i hope it wasn't to long, but yes i have got to express myself, cos i really was looking forwards to last nights concert.
