From: "Barry Gosden" Date: Sat, 14 Nov 1998 11:32:38 -0000 Hello everyone. My name is Barry Gosden and this is my first message on this digest. I have been a L42 fan for around 16 years. I must confess that I have yet to listen to MK's latest offering, however it seem's a little controversial if what I read in these messages are correct!!!! In reply to Dean Osborn > The above items were given away in various competitions and one even found it's way to the outside wall of The London Bass Centre (Until it got nicked!! - Anyone know who?) As usual the bum wiping rag which is The Sun has slagged the Very Best Of.... Essex etc..... Said theres only 1 good song on there, Something About You, ok I'm biased but The Sun can f**k off!! here bloody here mate!!! Hurrah, finally got the last of my tickets booked today. Going to all seven gigs!! I must be mad. See you all out there!! Lisa 'Mrs Pink' ------------------------------ Subject: urban legends & Coke From: "Richard Herren" Date: Sat, 14 Nov 1998 09:19:06 -0500 ***Super-Duper-Ultra Low Priority*** In a recent Digest, Wutsupg @ aol.com wrote: >Whoever brought up the whole New Coke analogy, I would just like to say that the reality behind why it happened in the first place was because Coke's copyright was running out on the formula.<, etc. If you're going to argue about something off-topic, at least stick to the facts. There is nothing about this story that is consistent with the truth. Anyone conducting a mimimum amount of research on Coca-Cola's history, copyright & patent law, trade secrets, or marketing would know that. If anyone wants to know why, or anything else about urban legends (the spoken equivalent of chain letters), for that matter, feel free to mail me. -r ------------------------------ Subject: Tickets From: "Adam Hankinson" Date: Sat, 14 Nov 1998 16:49:53 -0000 Take a look....... http://www.ahartiste.demon.co.uk/tickets.htm Adz ------------------------------ Subject: TSGD 98 (AGAIN) From: "Ronald Kuipers" Date: Sat, 14 Nov 1998 18:56:11 +0100 Hi all, I'm a lucky owner of the 4 track CDsingle of Thesun goes down '98. It is not gonna be played much because I don't like the track with Omar, except for the music, and I absolutely HATE the Tin tin out mix. I almost bought 2 (1 to swap) but when I got back to the dealer it was already sold. The reason why I didn't buy it before was a money thing, but now I have some left to buy a little memory for my PC. I'm also looking for an AMERICAN digester to swap some Ace of base stuff. There is a lot of different stuff out in America and Europe. Greetings. . . . . . . .Ronald ------------------------------ Subject: Hear 'Sun Goes Down '98' at Pizza Hut From: Birdnig @ aol.com Date: Sat, 14 Nov 1998 16:27:06 EST I there all… If you are ever sightseeing in Bath in the U.K. then get yourself down to Pizza Hut for two good reasons. 1. They offer an excellent buffet style menu and for around £4.50 you get through as much food as you can stomach. Two heaped plates filled with Pizza and salad washed down with a chilled Budweiser though is quite sufficient for myself at lunchtime. 2. This particular restaurant also offers very soulful grooves as a backdrop and yesterday was no different with the added bonus of, whilst chomping through a slice of Ham and Mushroom, SGD '98. It became a bit tricky whilst breaking into spontaneous song ….'Well I live on the edge time is in my side'… with my mouth full. Which leads me to two searching questions. 1. Why was there none of my favourite pizza available at the buffet counter? This happens to be Chicken Original (Spicy chicken, Onion, Green Pepper and Mushroom). 2. Why the hell did Polydor drop the release of SGD '98 as a single? Any other Digesters booked for Shepherd's Bush? See you there! 'My eyes wide open. I feel a breeze' (M.King, P.Gould, W.Badarou) S*%t I've left my front door open. Nigel Bird ------------------------------ Subject: Tickets for the M. King tour! I'm back to the list after a two year absence, with a pretty cool L42 "sighting" I'm watching the Toronto Maple Leafs (boo) play the Ottawa Senators (yay) from Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, and at a break in play, the PA guy plays Heaven In My Hands! I've never heard that at a hockey game before! T'was very cool. In the 6-disc player in the car right now...
