Here's a question for you - in the video to RITF - there are `cardboard' figures of the guys - I wondered what happened to the figures when they were done with filming? Do any Digesters own one/any of these? Just intrigued to know....something else for everyone to think about whilst contemplating fav. tracks & bass lines. Regards Fiona `K' ('cos not a lot of people can pronounce [or spell!] Klimczak) ------------------------------ Subject: TBWYA CDsingle From: "Ronald Kuipers" Date: Fri, 13 Nov 1998 13:48:24 +0100 Hi all, I have a little problem I have seem to misplaced my TBWYA CDsingle, I just can't find it anywhere. So after searching for about 3 weeks now I give up. Who can help me get a new (or second hand) copie. I've got the following things to swap for it just pick one or two. Fait accompli video (Been played 2 or 3 times) Love games dutch 12 inch (Used) (Record good sleeve is dammaged) RITF/WM 2xinch (Records mint sleeve good) Or my home cooked Rare tracks CDr. Oké The Very best of... CD is in Holland !!!!! I saw a copie at V&D in Venlo. I didn't buy it I tought it was to expensive (44,95). I made a promis to myself never to pay more than 39,95 for a CD. That's about 13 UK pounds. I had a L42 dream again, so I will tell you about it. I was in a recordstore I don't no where and a saw L42 CD box containing 3 CDs. It was a purple box with silver letters saying something like Level 42 polydor Re-issues. * Level 42 * An album wich I forgot (You know how that goes with dreams) * Physical precence The L42 contained the Goodbye Ray smicht-Volkt trck and PP was in fact a 2 CD set in a small case like GHAM. Well enough for now let me know about the TBWYA CDsingle. Greetings. . . . . . . .Ronald ------------------------------ Subject: More Breakfast Club From: Pat Flanagan Date: Fri, 13 Nov 1998 08:35:55 -0600 >What is does remind me of is a song called 'Back on Track', by a one-hit >wonder group called Breakfast Club. They were a quartet(drummer was a >former lover of Madonna) that many of my unenlightened friends confused >with Level 42. Actually, it was the singer, Dan Gilroy, that she had the fling with. She did, however, co-write a fair number of songs with the drummer, Steven Bray. She could've had a fling with him, too, but I'm not "officially" aware of it. Of course, she could've had a fling with the other guys in the band, too... >"Get Right On Track, is that gonna get you back" is the main chorus. As far as >the "corner of my eye" part or the video itself I do not know. I can send you >an audio sample if you think this maybe it. The video was very strange, with them in a cartoonish house with chickens. Very weird. ____________________ PFPD -- newmedia marketing consulting a limited liability company PO Box 281, Granger, IN 46530-0281 v:616.663.2250 -- competitive business advantages through creative technology ------------------------------ Subject: re: retinal degeneration, and other news... Yes, that is me. :) The sidebar story is wholly mine; I also edited (and wrote a couple paragraphs for) the main article. wow.... nice Friday morning surprise to get such positive feedback from an unexpected source. ;) thanks. Incidentally, for my token on-topic comments, I might add that I got One Man in the mail yesterday via Amazon.com. They charged $22.99 + S&H and it got here in a week (not bad!). I've only listened to the album once so far, but I'm enjoying it... more detailed comments may be forthcoming if I get enough time to sit in front of the stereo for a bit and give it my full attention. :) - jenn, heading off to work on another tech column ------------------------------ Subject: A very reasonable question. From: "Mickey Nap" Date: Fri, 13 Nov 1998 09:23:55 PST !Hi all! Some L42 Digest ago, some of you levelheads said that there is a web page on line in witch I could find the "One Man" album in very reasonable price. Could someone tell me what that is?. !Hope to read you later! We all have our own opinions on Album X or Song Y, but I have never thought that either Mark or L42 was responsible for fitting within our cookie-cutter concepts of what a cut from them should be. Every artist I like -- Seal, Stevie Wonder, Level 42, Robert Palmer, Hall and Oates -- has stretched their original boundaries and sometimes fallen on their bums as a result. But the only thing they owe to us is what they owe to themselves, a good college try. TCOY, The Duke "...brotherhood is not so wild a dream as those who profit by postponing it pretend." So I bought one even though I already have one on order. Anyway, I would just like to add that the album is excellent. It is a nice sound. I was expecting more of the L42 sound, but was glad to hear MK headed in a different direction. My favorite track off of it is Love Wars.
