Can somebody PLEASE send me a copy... Also, has anyone made a Level 42 desktop theme? paul F ------------------------------ Subject: Ireland Level Fest From: Vicki Marchant Organization: University College Dublin Date: Fri, 06 Feb 1998 13:21:10 +0000 (GMT) I just read that Julian Arnold will be in Ireland in June. If anyone else is up for this I'm sure it can be organised. I know I only live a couple of hundred miles from London but I'm studying and can't get away so a fest on my home turf would be great. If anyone's interested then mail me at either: vmarchan @ mcollamh.ucd.ie OR (if it works) vmarchan @ svherc.ucd.ie and I'll try and arrange one. Vicki ------------------------------ Subject: M on CD From: EMIKATIE @ aol.com Date: Fri, 6 Feb 1998 09:58:47 EST This is mainly for Andre: Yes there is at least one M - CD, Pop Muzik, The Very Best of M on Music Club label MCCD 267 @1996 with over 79 minutes of music. It has Pop Muzik as well as Pop Muzik ('89 Remix) plus 16 other tracks. The booklet is full of info and mentions Wally, Phil, Gary Barnacle and even David Bowie as contributors. They go on to say Mark King played guitar on some tracks !!! I've also seen at least 2 CD singles of those songs. The machine stops John > Well..... I thought Mark didn't contribute to "New York, London, > Paris,Munich" at all. > And don't tell me you _don't_ recognise Phil on "Pop Muzik". > I'll eat my Level 42 shirt if it isn't Phil on drums on this one ! > By the way speaking of M. Were any M albums ever released on CD ??? ------------------------------ Subject: M From: "Lazlo Nibble" Date: Fri, 6 Feb 1998 09:34:04 -0700 (MST) > By the way speaking of M. Were any M albums ever released on CD ??? There'a an excellent best-of out, as well as the first two albums (and possibly all of them) with lots and lots of bonus tracks. As small of a town it is, Newark, De. is big in the sense that its the home of 35,000 University of Delaware' students. The funk scene is booming now and the area's most popular band, The Vibe, won the area's Budweiser Battle of the Bands and just released their first independent CD. "So what?" you ask. Well, the band sounds like a mix of Level 42, Jamiroquai and AWB. If you are looking for something new, I HIGHLY recommend it... The band will be out in Chicago in June and plays up in New York about once a month. You can bet these guys will be signed by the end of the 1998. E-mail me direct for a band schedule or if you are interested in a CD (just $10). Also, someone wrote.... >Has anybody else heard of Chantal Kreviazuk? Sort of a Jann >Arden/kinder, gentler Alanis. Canadian, I believe... Chantal is the next golden girl of Columbia Records. They are backing her big and for good reason: Her "Under These Rocks and Stones" is everything that Alanis is without the screaming. I really would put her in the category of a Sara McLaughlin or Tori Amos. Intellectually her songs are more on that level. Oh yes, about a certain solo album in the near future... could that rattle that I hear be the distant sound of thunderthumbs? Hope so.
