From: Henri.Blakenburg @ DUT.RWS.minvenw.nl Date: Mon, 2 Feb 98 12:50:25 +0200 Hi Levelheadz Tired of waiting !! At 13:50, it's 133 hours to go, till our boys will be rerun at rockpalast numba 1. Can't remember that time moves so slow as these days. JUST CAN'T WAIT. Cee ya Henri ------------------------------ Subject: International Levelfest From: Lolitaj @ aol.com Date: Mon, 2 Feb 1998 09:12:08 EST Loz, you probably weren't around during the time that we decided how it would work. We have tentatively planned for the following: all day Friday up until Saturday morning, folks arrive. People coming from the West Coast take 9 hours, and the flights usually arrive in the morning, so we can't really get started until Saturday for those folks who can't leave until Friday. For the people who are arriving Friday morning like myself, we will hang out at a bar/pub/or club in Soho on Friday night, and I can already think of a couple of places there and on King's Rd. or Fulham that we could go to. We could also possibly catch a show at Ronnie Scott's if anyone good is playing (I caught Roy Ayers there by accident and it was an awesome, and cheap, show). Some of the native Brits agreed earlier that since they didn't have to pay for flights, they would chip in and charter a bus for Saturday afternoon. We planned on having the bus drive from London to Portsmouth, and we could turn it into a party bus, complete with boombox, bathroom and food. It's a two hour ride if I recall, so it would be a blast. We then take the ferry over to the Isle, and rent the upstairs room at Joe DaFloes for all of Saturday night. After that, we stay in a hotel on the Isle and sing Level 42 songs until we pass out. Sunday morning we eat breakfast and then head back to London. At that point we can go to record stores in London and just hang out all day, and we can then do the pub thing again that night. Anyone who needs to leave on Monday would do so, and those of us who are staying a little longer can scatter to the winds (I'm doing a day trip to Bath). The reason we want to have it in London and Isle of Wight combined is this: many people from the US are flying 3000-6000 miles to get there, and we aren't doing it to go to Reading. For a lot of people this will be their vacation (quite possibly their first time in Europe), and remember, you live there so you see London all the time. It would be like me suggesting that we have a New York City Levelfest in Linden, New Jersey. You wouldn't fly here for that. Since no one seems to be taking this up, I am willing to do it if I have a compatriot on the other side of the Big Pond (Marcus Bone, where are you?). If that person can find out charter bus prices I'll come up with an itinerary for everyone, and hotel prices on the Isle and in London. Later! The full info is as follows: Audiophile Imports P.O. Box 4945 Lutherville, MD 21094-4945 phone (410) 628-7601 fax (410) 628-1948 email cdinfo @ aol.com You can view their catalog and shop online at the following: http://cyboard.com/audiophile.html They also can be located easily be yahoo. I highly recommend this organization. Even though they fret about not being sure they can get items by Level 42, they always have. I bought most of my collection from them, and their catalog looks pretty full. They enjoy the band too, so they are fun to talk to. If you're like me, you don't run into too many people who've even heard of them!! I hope this information is helpful, Laurie ------------------------------ Subject: Adams Level 42 site From: EMIKATIE @ aol.com Date: Mon, 2 Feb 1998 16:54:14 EST Y'all, I checked out Adams new Level 42 website on Saturday morning as he mentioned on Friday that it was new. Well lo and behold, I checked out the digital counter and I was visitor # 0001 . I wrote to Adam and congratulated him on his fine site etc and casually queried if I won a prize for being the first visitor. I jokingly mentioned a picture disc would be nice :-). To my unbelievable amazement, Adam did, in fact, send me a wonderful picture disc. The 12" of Out of Sight / Out of Mind !!! To Adam: I thank you very much. To the rest of you, check out his site. I found the Level42 MegaMix 12" wrapped, for $10; B-side = SOS. (didn't buy) also saw King's Influenza :) CD, but it's the UK edition. If anyone wants these, I can buy them. I (along with Loz) would like to buy the US version of Influences, with Mark King pictured in the wilderness, not just his face. :) If anyone knows where to get this, please let me know, thanks Bruce Conrad,Software Control Analyst Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Quincy, MA www.harvardpilgrim.org www.members.aol.com/bhconrad/index.html If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
