I'm probably not the only Englishman wishing he hadn't heard it 50,000,000,000 times on that damn insurance advert with the biker holding the baby...Top stuff on that CD though. Although it falls prey to one of my pet hates - bonus points for anyone who can tell me which track should NOT BE ON AN 80s COMPILATION! AG [Ahh! The Trainspotter Awards! I am just writing to apologise to everybody (Winston, Kristin, Glynn, Steve, Tom, Jennifer, Dave, etc etc) for not having written for a while. I have not been very well lately and not had much mobility. I would love to hear from you all still, and hope to hear from you soon. Love Jen -- Jennie ------------------------------ Subject: That's NOT music! From: Jennie Date: Tue, 4 Aug 1998 14:22:53 +0100 Hi, Jennie here again! Can anyone help me? As a Level 42 fan since 1985 I have never come accross anybody with such awful taste in music as my boyfriend. He comes into my flat and put on bands such as: a) SEPULTURA B) CORROSION OF CONFORMITY C) MACHINE HEAD D) MARILYN MANSON I HATE the stuff, it's all shouting and screaming with not a melody in earshot. I cannot get him to like LEVEL and I can't stand his music. Does anyone have an idea about what I can do - his music gives me a headache!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -- Jennie ------------------------------ Subject: Larry live From: "Jamate, Greg" Date: Tue, 4 Aug 1998 13:07:10 -0400 Hi Levelheads, for you fans of funk and slap bass. If you're near London toward the end of August be sure to catch the Grand-daddy of slap, Larry Graham live. His act with Graham Central Station is opening for the Artist on two dates there. Larry must be seen to be experienced. He makes a good show with the bass. When he slaps his open E, there's not a funkier, nastier, more groovy sound on the planet. Check him out: August 26 ``Brixton Stadium'' London, England August 28 ``Wembley Stadium'' London, England that's all, Greg ------------------------------ Subject: listen.to/level42 From: Daniel James Date: Tue, 4 Aug 1998 11:02:35 -0700 (PDT) Okay, this wasn't answered by anyone yesterday, so I'll tackle it... > From: Laurie Webb Varma > Can someone tell me about the web site http://listen.to/level42? When I > click on a song title, all I get is gibberish...Am I doing something > wrong? I want to get the tune! For some reason your browser is displaying the binary data on your screen. You can save it directly to your hard drive and then play the songs. Right click (or Click and Hold on a Macintosh) on the song you want to hear and select "Save to Disk" -- Once you've got the mp3 saved, you can play it through an Mpeg player. WinAmp is a great player for Windows, and Microsoft's newest Media Player will also play mp3 files. There are a few players for the mac as well (but you need a PowerMac, otherwise you'll have to use the player to convert the file to a Sound Resource and play it that way). Good luck--there's some great stuff up there! ------------------------------ Subject: Bend the bass!!!
