CA MOCKE ------------------------------ Subject: Happy New Year From: Vicki Marchant Organization: University College Dublin Date: Thu, 08 Jan 1998 13:24:07 +0000 (GMT) Happy New Year and congratulations to all those who are recently engaged. God help you! Do you know what you are letting yourselves in for??? I've been engaged for well over 1 year and I've enjoyed every minute of it. Good luck to you all. I'm really looking forward to the rest of 1998 and 1997 was a really horrible year for me which finished off quite aptly with my Mum (who I kinda live with) and myself being made unemployed. As I say.. roll on 1998. Zap- any more news on my money? I'm desprate for the cd's. Grativo ------------------------------ Subject: Congratulations! From: Lolitaj Organization: AOL (http://www.aol.com) Date: Thu, 8 Jan 1998 08:36:32 EST Happy New Year everyone! Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I'd like to give a big 'shout out' to Carl and Laurel. For those of you who don't know this, they met at a Levelfest in October 1996, so that proves that Levelfests are worth attending! I'm very happy for you two, and I hope you can both make it to the London Levelfest so that we can all congratulate you both in person. Take care! Lolita ------------------------------ Subject: Carl & Laurel From: "James, Daniel" Date: Thu, 8 Jan 1998 07:55:43 -0800 Whelp. I know you're gonna get a lot of these messages Carl, but I wanted to send you my own congratulations. How very exciting for you! I had a blast meeting and hanging out with the both of you in Vegas and I couldn't wish two nicer people to be together. Thanks for sharing your happiness :) And now, my own wishes for the Happiest of New Years for everyone! See you *ALL* in London this May! From: Jeff Grous Date: Thu, 08 Jan 1998 09:29:54 -0800 Heya, 'heads! I just wanted to wish everybody a happy new year, and to say that I'm sure glad the Digest is back up... I missed it! Carl said: > At the stroke of midnight I asked Laurel to marry me, and she said yes. Carl, what did you drug her with, man? Snap out of it, girl... hahahaha! Let me be the first (well, probably not) to congratulate you both- that's awesome!! You guys better make sure the band you have at the reception can PLAY, cause we're all gonna expect it. :) -Jeff ------------------------------ Subject: miscel. From: Erik Terheggen Date: Thu, 08 Jan 1998 19:01:06 +0100 Hi levelheads, Just came back from San Fransisco (to Amsterdam). I bought FN resurgence at Blockbusters ! I couldn't find it in Virgin. (Mike thank you for your suggestions). I love the record. By the way, Andrew mentioned Mezzoforte, this is a splashing band ! I had the opportunity to see them in Amsterdam in Paradiso some years ago. It was funny because they had no stage act at all, and were really shy. They sounded great though. I have all their records, their sound is may be a bit too polished but i liked it. On the subject 'Mark a nice guy ?' I had the opportunity to say hello to him on two occcasions. In both instances he was very nice, so was Mike. It seems Mark is a nice guy with a great sense of humour, who doesn't walk beside his shoes. Mark seems to be just a normal guy, (and like anyone of us normal people, nobody is perfect). Although i have to admit that MK playing the bass has some divine touch to it. (I just can not figure out how he invents those great bass lines). See ya ! Erik Terheggen ------------------------------ Subject: Lesson in (List) Love From: Colin Campbell Date: Thu, 08 Jan 1998 11:44:32 -0800 My goodness! In one edition of the digest, we've got two proposals and a new girlfriend! Well, to Paul Fucito, Carl Mueller, and Bruce Conrad, I say congratulations and good luck in your cases of "Love Meeting Love." Re: Shirts: My only thought is this -- Has anyone on this list ever seen a web address on a t-shirt and thought, "Oh, wait, don't move -- I want to write down that address!" Now, it's one thing if the address is a simple one, like the name of a company, and is only preceeded by a "www" and ends with ".com." If someone only puts in the "worldmachine.com" part, it doesn't even say "Level 42" anywhere on the page. (That's not a knock, Eric ... I know you have a business!) But what the heck ... Enough of my whining .. any Level 42 shirt is a good shirt!! Colin Campbell jenolen @ earthlink.net http://home.earthlink.net/~jenolen/ ------------------------------ Subject: Re-issues? From: dreamer @ ime.net Organization: My beast of a computer Date: Thu, 8 Jan 1998 14:56:46 +0000 Hey Everyone, Has anyone else noticed that www.musicblvd.com has 4 L42 albums with a release date of 12/30/97. It looks like they are on the Musicrama label and they include FN, PP, POA and SITL. Unfortunantly they don't include a track listing. Does anyone have the "scoop" on these? I've written them but no answer yet. Standing in the dark, Rolf ------------------------------ Subject: 42 w/Holdsworth From: "Dawayne Bailey" Date: Thu, 08 Jan 1998 12:23:24 PST I have a copy of the 42/Holdsworth tape (thank you CM), but it would be incredible to find someone with an original "direct from radio" copy who could make a second generation from their "master" for me. If anyone has any clues, it would be much appreciated. Thanks and here's hoping for new 42 in '98. ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Level42 Digest V98 #1 From: Negrita611 Organization: AOL (http://www.aol.com) Date: Thu, 8 Jan 1998 20:35:10 EST As a relatively new subscriber to the mailing list I want to say hello to folks and say I'm glad there are so many Level42 Fans still around. Me, I've been into the band since around '85. What's all this about an Level Fest in London ? Are there dates set ? I'll be in London this summer so it would be cool to mix some business with pleasure. Later ------------------------------ Subject: Hunh?!? From: "Wil Hensley" Date: Thu, 08 Jan 1998 19:17:47 PST For some reason, my server sent out my New Year's greeting again yesterday. I don't get it, but maybe someone didn't get kissed when the ball dropped (unlike me, for the first time in years), and needed a little extra wish of happiness. So, there it is again.
