Answer in the style of a semantic network: Kryptonite remix - by - Ben Liebraund - Could be called - an edit of a longer mix - called - Its Over remix 92 - done as part of the 'The Remixes' project - didn't make the CD - the longer version was only heard on radio - the shorter version (kryptonite) - is found only on a Polydor promo cassette for 'The Remixes - I have both. Not that I want to go to a hornets nest and individually spank the back end of each hornet. But I'm putting issue 2 or 'Word Machine' together. I need information on Rare 'Level 42' (album) items. So if anyone has anything rare, let me know. Issue 1 is selling well, and I think issue 2 will be ALL with glossy covers, well, I'm gonna do 100 with glossy covers, and people who bought issue 1 are guarantedd to get a glossy copy of issue 2. I know it's a long way down the line, but I do hope to sort out all this Running In The Family / Platinum Edition promos confusion. The truth is that there IS a lot of rare/different itemsfrom these albums out there, but it will all get sorted. Also, buckling under the pressure of digesters, look out for Word Machine on the web, coming soon. No no, it wasn't enough that I was already working at full pace to supply info, they wanted me to learn how to put it on the internet too AND do that. Honestly, anyone else would've, well............. There is NOT a dog. -------------------------------------------- 'Word Machine' the Level 42 fanzine. Current issue. I also have some sugar packets from Hungary that I could throw into the deal [is that a deal or what?], I knew they would come in handy some day!! {if you don't know why I'm mentioning this, check out Loz's web site. The thing is, I can't tell if this is his other hobby or just a joke :)} Bruce [BHConrad @ AOL.Com please] (I collect pickle jar covers, myself :)) ------------------------------ Subject: http://www.level42.com (help wanted!) Was there a web address > for photos from the Level Fest? My pictures (well about 1/4 of them anyway) are at: http://www.serv.net/~djames/london.html At the bottom of the page is a link to the other four sites that I know of. If I'm missing anyone else's pictures, please let me know 'cause that means I haven't seen them yet either. I've also got still 30 or so pictures sitting on my computer that haven't been uploaded (but most of them are shots from the Raytheon and aren't all that good) as well as four rolls of film that might possibly get scanned if I can ever find the time. ------------------------------ Subject: Wotcher torkin' 'bout... From: powerfm @ mail.netconnect.com.au Date: Sat, 25 Jul 1998 17:00:27 +1000 Hey Level Kidz...., Good to see a busy digest after such a long period!!! >Questions: >What are the Hen Packed Horns doing these days? Er, that's Hen "Pecked", innit?? Funny this should be brought up... Lenny Henry was interviewed on "Recovery" (Oz live music/chat show) this morning and he was talking about his funk band which featured L42's horn section!!! Forget what his band was called, but they sound like a REAL funk band, a definition which is often blurred these days. >Someone brought up some time ago about how Boon's guitar playing left a >little more to be desired. After months and months of collecting dust, >my Physical Presence (the live albums) found its way into my car stereo >again, and now I feel very strongly that many of the comments made (way >back when) take away from what it was that Boon added to the group: >A fantastic rhythmic and harmonic element. A lot of people tend to drastically understate Boon, which I myself find offensive. Granted, when I was younger and placed musical importance on playing a million notes a second (and turning friendship into bitter rivalry when one of my peers picked up an instrument), I found it difficult to understand why Boon played so little. But as the above states, the parts he played WORK and WORK WELL and add vital texture to L42's songs. I gotta say though, his work on the Physical Presence album betrayed the guitar playing abilities of an absolute monster!!!! Above and beyond all this, I believe he is a very talented musician who has a knack for playing the right notes at the right time, something we should all strive for. That's my 5 cents worth (I can't use the term 2 cents because that's no longer legitimate currency in this country!!!), anyone got a similar view??? Cheers from Oz, Spaldo..... P.S. can't wait to hear from you, Rebecca...I'm on my way to Sydney in a few weeks, so ya betta post me!!!! Cheers!!!
