I hear some of the re-release CD track listings are all but finalised. The main thing for you guys is that Physical Prescence WILL have the 3 previously unreleased tracks AND OTHER ONES TOO. Neet Expect live track on 'Early Tapes' too. As well as Wings Of Love Remix '81 and 'Piano' and 'Instrumental Love'. The only other I know is Level 42, expect all the B-sides as well as a track called 'Goodbye Ray-Schmidt Volk' which Mark told me about (and he was'nt joking,it really is there). Also, Perrrr---lease don't thing my atrocious grammar and spelling will spill over intomy fanzine. Because it won't. So if you haven't mailed me and ordered your US copy of Word Machine, or if you live in the UK and havent sent me a cheque for 2 pounds WHY NOT? I need to sell 100 copies to break even and as yet I have manged half of this. I don't know whether you read the other day about t, but it's in colour it has band interviews etc. Hear Boon's thoughts on his days with Level 42 etc. Loz Green 110 Abbey Lane Sheffield S8 OBQ England OK, tell all your Level 42 style buddies too. Last thing, I hear copies of 'One Man' Marks new album, are currently winging their way around all the European radio stations. Its coming! I am anxious to reply to you, but I deleted the message at work and forwarded it home and your email address has not followed it. Yours.................LOZ ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Tube Bells - last word (honest) From: Lazlo Nibble Date: Mon, 13 Jul 1998 09:15:49 -0600 >> If you did that, all the instruments would be double-speed! Remember, >> all the other instuments reside in adjacent tracks on the same tape. > > Argh shucks, I forgot about the adjacent tracks thing !!! Call me crazy, but I think that by 1973 they had already developed the technology to record a guitar on an entirely separate tape, copying it to the master at its final "sped-up" speed. Bill threatened me with bodily harm if i didn't say the following: 1. I'm very privileged to have been one of the first digest members to receive his 2nd collection of cover songs. 2. This tape is the best thing since sliced bread. 3. The sound quality is unlike anything i have ever heard. 4. It was 'only' 2 years in the making. But seriously, the tape is very good and has some great versions of Level 42 tracks on it, so order your copy from Bill Wilson today. Of course my current fave is the awesome version of 'The Chinese Way' that's on the tape. As i don't have the tape with me, i can't credit the young lady who sent in that version. Tcoy, Win ------------------------------ Subject: Colorado Uberalis From: MByrd42 @ aol.com Date: Mon, 13 Jul 1998 15:18:49 EDT My misguided friend, Mark wrote yesterday: >>Hey William, I am sorry to disapoint you but, Cleveland, Ohio is the >>best sports town. What is that song they play at the 7th inning >>stretch at the Rockies games?? oh yeah "Thank god I'm a country boy" >>what the hell is that all about?? What Rockies game have you been to? Your geography is skewed as well. Colorado is about as country as Cleveland is metropolitan. By the way, I see we still have a football team. I guess fan support (REAL FAN SUPPORT) counts for something. >>Cleveland ROCKS!! ever heard it?? Yeah. I think you've been watching "The Drew Carey Show" too much. Don't believe the hype. >>from a faithful Cleveland fan, Thanks for the input. What is your opinon on Level 42? Sorry, Mark. This isn't a flame war I want to get into, especially here. I just hate half-baked comments like "What is that song they play at the 7th inning stretch at the Rockies games?? oh yeah 'Thank god I'm a country boy'" "We're only human after all..." Byrdman ------------------------------ Subject: videos wanted From: "Lisa Devlin" Date: Mon, 13 Jul 1998 21:53:57 +0100 I'm looking for any Level 42 stuff on video, (apart from the ones you can buy in the UK as i already have them) Especially the Princes Trust stuff as my video chewed them up, but anything interesting. If anyone has anything they can copy for me or can bear to part with, can they mail me? at: yfq91 @ dial.pipex.com Thanks Lisa ------------------------------ Subject: A Clarification. From: "Will Greer" Date: Mon, 13 Jul 1998 15:35:28 -0600 BEWARE: A VERY NON-LEVEL 42 POSTING. When I read over my biography posted the day before yesterday, I found that it didn't read quite the way I wanted it to in some areas. I also received some excellent and very welcome feedback about the things I wrote. One piece of feedback in particular has made me want to revisit what I said in my bio. I mentioned that I was not fond of organized religion, but was a Christian. By this I meant that I have attended some churches in my life that seemed to be concerned with a great many things other than improving their congregations' relationships with God. One particular church I'm thinking of was very large and powerful in the community and served a role as a "high profile endorser of candidates for office" that often seemed more important than the role of spritual leadership. This is an example of some things that have made me a little skeptical. I think that it is for each of us to develop our relationship with the higher powers we believe in, in our own ways. I meant in no way to discourage anyone from seeking out a church that makes you comfortable and happy, and I very definitely did not intend to discourage anyone from seeking leadership and comfort from Christ. Sorry for the content irrelevant to the Digest, but after reading my bio I felt like I should say this stuff. Thanks for bearing with me. =================================== Will Greer Empower Solutions, LLC Denver, Colorado (303) 888-7154 mailto:Will_Greer @ EmpowerSolutions.com http://www.EmpowerSolutions.com =================================== ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Level42 Digest V98 #180 From: Bilal42 @ aol.com Date: Mon, 13 Jul 1998 19:31:00 EDT Just a quickie... Rebecca mentioned that in the 84 Rockpasast gig, MK may have been saying 'hello Florrie...' in the build up to Love Games. That would be cool, but i always thought he was saying 'are you ready, are you ready? Then I'll begin'. Either way, what a cool performance!
