Ah, I believe that's from Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" (which was used in some part as the scary theme music for "Halloween"). I just thought I'd pass on a few pence and say that MP3s are way cool. I never thought to look into them until Vince (hey Synth, where the heck are you man...?) put up the Forever Now and TBWYA remix files, and then the two RCA-only tracks were put up recently (although I do have this release, I don't have it here at work, so it's nice to be able to listen to it). Anyway, I went digging around for some MP3 sites and found a whole underground music scene where unsigned artists and amateur folk put up their own compositions. Some of these are fantastic, and it's the only way these people will get their name out there. For those who are curious, http://www.kosmic.org/ is a great place to start, and there's a huge list of links at http://hinux.hin.no/~restad/frames/mp3.html Kosmic's site seems very techno oriented (which isn't a bad thing as I'm a huge Orbital/808 State fan) but there's some ambient and acid/house type stuff out there as well. Have fun... ------------------------------ Subject: re: Contact From: Mighty Maomoondog Date: Wed, 08 Jul 1998 22:09:30 +0200 Hey guys 'n gals! :P Another little note from me. A few days (or weeks?) ago someone mentioned the film Contact in relation to the artwork on the cover of the 'Heaven in my Hands' single. Nothing about that right now, but speaking of Contact, the beginning sequence, with the radio waves taking the viewer 'back in time', you can hear a lot of songs. I remember recognising at least 2 of them: at the very beginning, as in most recent, there was "Wannabe" by them (at that time) 5 girls, but it also features Mr Mister's 'Broken Wings'! I thought that was really QL when I was sitting in that theater, but when I told everybody about it, no-one had noticed and there was even someone who didn't know "Broken Wings"! Can you believe that! later! Mighty Maomoondog -- "...and the fog conceals and hides and eats our souls..." -- ------------------------------ Subject: just what you all wanted to see... another bio!
