I have to catch a flight to Milan in 3 hours. But I cannot leave it for 4 days before putting (one) finger to keyboard to comment about a day in history - Saturday May 23rd 1998. I know Lolita will give everyone a thorough de-briefing but here are a few of my own observations. Joe Da'flos - What a cool place! Big thanks to the bar staff (only names I recall are Michelle and Nessa). They made us feel most welcome and were well trained in changing over the CD's :-) Mark K, Ria and their lovely daughter for gracing us with their "physical" prescence - A sincere big thank you to them for taking the time out to share the occasion. Mark was so warm, nothing was too much trouble and he was soooooooo genuine. To shake that hand and to get a cuddle (!) after all these years is almost worth doing a George Michael loo impression (thought it strange Mark appearing from the Ladies toilets - must be a back way in :-)). A few items like scraps of paper, nametags, books, ferry tickets and record/CD sleeves will be well preserved for the future. The forthcoming CD on Eagle Rock is a must, even Mark himself rates it (gotta be good, then!). I'll let Lolita fill in some of the other details. Don Z - Great nametags and superb pins. I am sure you are already working on the next ones! Raytheon Club - A massive thanks to all those who came to my club, behaved like the perfect guests and looked to enjoy themselves ito the early hours. You are all welcome back any time you damn well like. Right, a few comments on some particular people:- Morgan Roussel - Man, you sure can play a bass! Rift heaven. Just remember to share the damn thing now and then ;-) Rob Steen, Mark Tweedale and Don Zipf - Great bass stuff too! I (and others) am in awe at your talents. Adam Hankinson - my new hero! Thanks from me and I'm sure from the guys above for bringing the Status and the guitar. You sure know how to entertain and are a cool slapper and strummer yourself! Mustang Sally - definately an off L42 topic, but great all the same:-)) Andy Smith - Trumpeter extrodinaire, but too pissed (drunk) to play all night! Winston Walker - Great mix up. Poor Morgan got frustrated 'cause he didn't know what was up next! Thanks for occupying the decks for a while too! Got everyone on their feet! Tony Bassette - the Energiser bunny. What drugs do you take, man? A constant 1000 watt energy source! Lolita Jackson - a great voice! Big thanks to you for the shirts, the organisation, everything really! Don't lose those precious qualities:-) Steve Randall - WAKE UP, DUDE!!!!!!! And finally to Mr. Eric J. Hansen - If it wasn't for your dedication and commitment, I doubt if anything like this would have ever occurred. WE ARE NOT WORTHY! Long live the digest - here's to the next International Levelfest. At last I'm outta here - Arrivederchi Tony ------=_NextPart_000_0006_01BD871C.038C43C0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

From: Nigel Redd Date: Sun, 24 May 1998 20:09:01 -0600 Since reading the post on "running in the family", and that the "Der...Der.....Der..." on the chorus were synth and not boon, I listened many times to the recorded cd of "RITF" and would have to say kindly, that by ear at least, it is guitar and mike playing along on the first part of the riff. Boon rules! If there is evidence of this part not being boon, we're all ears. ------------------------------ Subject: Re: TOPPOP YEAH ! From: Henri.Blakenburg @ DUT.RWS.minvenw.nl Date: Mon, 25 May 98 8:58:26 +0200 Hi there, I have send this mail already, came back from a few days work and sow that it didn't come over, so here i go again. Andre: About TOPPOP. They do have a site: www.omroep.nl/avro/toppop/ and a e-mail adress: TopPop @ avro.nl. Damn, i really tought you wrote about the "Hot Water" clip. I'm only 1 week 39 years old, and already my memory is "Leaving me now". Well, i have ask them to rerun the clip of "Love games" complete, but they didn't answer me yet. But if we Dutch fans all try....... I don't remember that clip, so i also would really like to see it!!! Adios 559 amigos. Henri
