For those of you who don't know who Ian is, he wrote the liner notes to the Live at Wembley CD, and is in almost constant contact with Crockford. Sean told me that Mike will make some phone calls and try to make them aware of our excursion to the Isle. He said its probably a bit early to do so, so in the next couple of weeks we will hear more. I'll keep you all posted as info comes in. Lolita ------------------------------ Subject: MIle High Levelfest From: MByrd42 Date: Thu, 16 Apr 1998 17:16:29 EDT I need to know if anyone else will be attending the Mile High Levelfest on May 22, so I can send Lolita some T-shirt info. So once again, if you live in the Denver, CO area and would like to meet with some Level 42 fans in your area, please contact me at MByrd42 @ AOL.COM or PoetByrd @ AOL.COM. The tentative site is the Champion Micro Brewery or Shakespeare's Pool Hall in LoDo. Please let me know soon! Byrdman ------------------------------ Subject: Thanks+ Anyone for bass? From: Bilal42 Date: Thu, 16 Apr 1998 20:29:32 EDT A quick note: A BIG BIG Thank You to Lolita and the others who have driven the International Levelfest effort so well. I cant thank you enough. As ever, please feel free to give me a shout if I can do anything. PS: I have a gorgeous JD bass, a little like Mark's. I have never been able to do it justice. If you guys want, I can bring the little beauty to the International Levelfest in my car, if there is a careful volunteer, he she/can play it for us; maybe when can get a one night band together? Oh and by the way, has anyone tried to contact (as well as Mark and Mike) any of the Gould Brothers, Jakko, Gary, Annie or any of the others regarding the ILF??? Bruno Brooks? What about the local (UK) media? Surely this is a matter of interest! Just contact me if we still need to do this. Oh and by the way(!): I remember a long time ago, someone asked about the support band on the last tour (who asked this). You may or may not know that this band was lead by Mark's brother, they were really good, though he did not play bass (he is apparently a brilliant bassist) and I think he deliberately tried to look different to Mark and did not mention who he was so that he was appreciated for his own talent. Either way, they were all brilliant. I'll never forget that tour, or any of the others! Keep in touch - Bilal ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Level42 Digest V98 #99 From: Bilal42 Date: Thu, 16 Apr 1998 20:30:49 EDT by the way, anyone in the Midlands or in fact the UK, feel free to get in touch! Mr Bill Miller, where are you these days?! ------------------------------ Subject: Thanks. From: Dan James Date: Fri, 17 Apr 1998 09:14:55 +0100 All, Many thanks for your advice and comments re getting my son's bass signed, especially to Chris Staunton and the pick guard suggestion - very good idea, alas I'm fairly sure his Yamaha bass doesn't have one!? What I thought of was on the inside of the panel that covers the electronics on the back - a bit hidden though, I guess he'd want it on view to his mates (who at 12, have probably never heard of Mark King anyway). To Dan James (not me you fools, the other one), I really like the idea of a meeting on May 23rd with other fans though - does Mark King ever meet you all at this event? Are a lot of digesters bass players too? Some of you sound highly musical. I reckon Liam would be keen to meet some of you - is your meeting suitable for a 12 year old, or is it more for beer swilling old duffers such as I? Thanks again, Dan. -- Dan James
