I recently had a burglary in which the S.O.BTCHES stole my video collection one of which was my most prized video (LEVEL 42 LIVE AT WEMBLEY ARENA 1987..RUNNING IN THE FAMILY TOUR) opening with fashion fever and ending with hot water with mark king being suspended by cables from a mobile boom above the stage.also stolen was an earlier video (LIVE AT THE REGAL THEATRE IN HITCHING).The 1987 video was a channel 5 video distribution release, whom I believe have been taken over.Being in SOUTH AFRICA,Im sure you can imagine how difficult it is to try and find any info at all.PLEASE CAN ANYONE OUT THERE HELP ME FIND THIS VIDEO ???.Info on any others available (live of course),like "GUARANTEED CONCERT" would be much appreciated, cost is irrelavent. MANY THANKS MARK. ------------------------------ Subject: Lyrics from The Early Tapes From: Steven_Libenson @ monitor.com Date: Thu, 16 Jan 1997 03:57:05 -0400 I received a few requests for the lyrics from 3 songs on the The Early Tapes, so I thought I'd post them for everyone. I typed the lyrics the way they did, including a typo on "Lieing" in track 4. Track 2 Love Meeting Love Summer nights making love Together we're as one is love's light We have found our way through another day So tonight we'll stay Drunk on the sweet wine Heaven yours and mine Love meeting love sweet lady Take my soul Keep it in its place through the night Hold me in your arms and take me in And we'll start again To look into the fire Sipping our desire Love meeting love yeah yeah Then floating lost in love Your body soft and warm next to mine Time is standing still for you and me So silently talking with our eyes Knowing no goodbyes Love meeting love yeah yeah Track 4 Autumn (Paradise is Free) I just can't believe it's true Lovers never loved as we two do Take me out on love's sweet chain Rising, falling 'til you call my name * A paradise that's free Is conceived when you love me And you know I'll always be here forever Take what I can give For the love it's given with All the love that we can live in together Being here is all I feel Passions driving never seemed so real Using all to take us there Lieing still now, floating up in the air (Repeat *) No more pain to see me through Sailing on now like we used to do Summer's pain has gone away Autumn bring love to us again Track 5 Wings of Love I was living in a daydream Letting time of day pass by I didn't know what I was missing Until you came into my life When I say you pretty girl I felt a glowing inside When I kissed you pretty girl I felt you light up my life * Oh I'm flying up on the wings of love And I know that you come from him above Holding hands we walk together Nothing's gonna make us part That our love will last forever Is the song that's in our heart Making love is oh so sweet We're locked in each other's arms And our bodies feel this heat That's the answer to love (Repeat *) Now I'm living in a love dream Time and days are passing by Now I really know how love feels Can't help smiling all the time When you're with me pretty girl I feel your warmth by my side When you touch me pretty girl Dreams of joy I can't hide (Repeat *) BTW, my email addresses are: At work: Steven_Libenson @ Monitor.com At home: SteveLibenson @ Juno.com. Yes I admit it. I am guilty. I like the song. Yes. It's true. Maybe I even love it..... But then, I love (nearly) all L42 songs.... Even the Pharaoh's curse....so maybe I'm not much of a reference.... I think it's a powerful song, not maybe with the best lyrics or melody, but god does it groove ! And I like the bassline ! (High to low, tadadadadada-doom,doom,doom,tadadadada,doom,doom,doom.....) Even though it is quite simple and repeated througout the song..... End of confession. ...they were the only ones in a cruel world...... I'll repeat it: On a Level 42 video, one of the musicians can be seen to be carrying a gun. Which video and which musician is it? Nigel ------------------------------ Subject: Comments From: "dirk.vael" Date: 20 Jan 97 19:15:41 Yo Yo Yo guys'n gals 1.I saw that records of L42 are really collectors items, since prices of $25 for non-ltd.ed. CD5s are pretty exorbitant! Damn, if I only knew that beforehand! 2.There's also a 5" CDV of TCOY (next to the other 6 mentioned) 3.The CD project will take off when I have the right pro-CDDA software. There is specialized audio CDR soft for the Mac, but $1100 is really silly to pay! If someone can get me an 'evaluation' version ;-), tell me. I can run Mac software without any fuss on my Amiga. I will normally use Asimware's MasterISO v2.0. 4.Already have 113 CD requests... Yuk! 5.Why does no-one put Guaranteed Live Video on double-CD? Someone 'hinted' this in the Digest... I only have the VHS version, and I think someone with an LD version should dub it onto MD or DAT or straight to CD... Anyone out there? 6. The LowlandsLevelFest (LLLF) seems to become a pro-meeting... better get all my audio toys over there!! (IF I can come Andre!) ***SKIP THE FOLLOWING LINES IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO READ NON-L42 RELATED STUFF*** !Msg to Eric!: I'll be competing as a DJ in a student-house-party-contest on Wednesday! Some friend (who's mainly responsible for all the vinyl records I will play) contacted me for this. The idea is to make a 60 mins mix of trancy house mixed live at the small (+/- 300 folks) party-place... After 5 to 6 (non-professional; student) DJs performing, the audience (students) will vote who was the best (based on music and sequences)... I hope to end in the top 3. I'll make sure I can dub this session straight onto MD and afterwards I'll send you the mix... I hope it will be a fine mix (I can use two SL1210's, thank God!). But I warn you, it's not exactly garage music. I practiced with the 12" records during the weekend, and even I don't like all of the tracks, there is some good trance in it! More news on Thursday. PS: No L42 K-Klass remixes involved! ;-) ***YOU CAN STOP SKIPPING THE TEXT IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO READ NON-L42 RELATED STUFF*** That's all! see ya, Dirkies ------------------------------ Subject: TCW & Others From: Winman42 @ aol.com Date: Mon, 20 Jan 1997 17:58:27 -0500 (EST) Zak - thanks for 'taking up' for me! Boy, I always wanted a big brother to back me up in a scrape. I must be dreaming, but lately a few people have stood up for 'The Chinese Way'. What is the digest coming to? :-) TCOY, Winston ------------------------------ Subject: PARRINGTON'S POINT: bids (not again!!!) From: pattonse @ plu.edu Date: Mon, 20 Jan 1997 23:09:52 -0800 (PST) Everyone, This is the LAST time I will be bidding these items. No, really. I had pointed out to me that since the weekend was aholiday, that alot of people might be gone and have not had a chance to bid. So, tonight by 9pm Pacific is the deadline for bids. At 9pm, the highest bidder will be informed that they have the item. One of the things that have made it confusing is when a bid on a certain item keeps going up, I have to let the former highest bidder know, so they have the option of upping it or not. So, here is a solution. When you bid, let me know if someone bids higher if you are willing to bid more, or if you price is fixed. To insure fairness, I will forward the e-mail of the person with the highest bid, on any request to insure that no one is being taken in to bidding higher. So here's what we have: GUARANTEED: cd single with All She Wants and New Avengers Mix : $25 high bid. OVERTIME: cd single with At this Great Distance and the Lorimer and Horn-pecked mixes of Overtime : $25 high bid. MY FATHER'S SHOES: cd single with As Years Go By and Her Big Day/ The Sun Goes Down (live) : $25 high bid. MY FATHER'S SHOES : cd single with interview and same two live tracks as above : $20 high bid. ALL OVER YOU : with Lessons In Love, Running in the Family, and the Sun Goes Down : $7 high bid. HEAVEN IN MY HANDS : cd single with one track only, but it is in a blue cardboard sleeve with picture from 12inch single and the writing printed, not stamped, on front saying PROMOTIONAL CD NOT FOR SALE : $5 high bid. INTERVIEW PICTURE DISC WITH MARK KING : $30 high bid. BASS PLAYER MAGAZINE : Mark King on cover : $15 high bid. STANDING IN THE LIGHT : U.S. made A&M record, never played, but opened, with alternate picture on front. Unique piece and an entirely different look : $12 high bid. BRAND NEW FOR BIDDING: Set of 4 black and white 8x10 glossys from Guaranteed photo session. Comes with press kit info sent to me direct from Phillipa at Crockford Management back in 1991. Will include actual fax from Crockford asking me where to send it to. Has promo only sticker on back and Crock's signature on the fax. AT ANY RATE: Get those bids in by 9pm. I will check them throughout the day to update those who have bid, to inform them of the status of individual items. -Joe (who will be happy when 9pm hits and he can go back to writing humorous diddies for the Digest, like RITF promo :)
