I think London would be great too, getting to London is easy and relativlely cheap for both Europeans and US people (and of course all other places in this world). Getting to the IOW is relatively much more expensive I guess.... And if it's going to be Holland, it is _DEFINITLY NOT_ going to be Amsterdam, that's what my vote is...... Question of the week: What is the name of this Indian instrument that can be heard on LIAPW and was it sampled or is Mark actualy playing it ? (Well, if it _was_ sampled someone had to play it as well, or not ?) The fifth string would > be tuned to B, the sixth string to E. All very true. I add, because it's interesting, that the next string higher than G on a bass (if you have a six-string or five-string with the extra as a high), as normally tuned to C, not B like a six string guitar. Obviously, this is more consistent, as C is a fourth above G. I suppose they made it a B on guitars to make chord fretting a little easier. -- -Will "I don't name the streets, I just live on them" ------------------------------ Subject: Tuning. You guys are bassically correct ;-) except for one niggling item: it's the LAST four strings of the guitar to which you refer. The 'first' string is always the highest in pitch and lowest geographically. The low 'E' is the fourth string on a bass, but the sixth on a guitar. They did that just to confuse everyone.
