To be frank I have come down to earth with a bang this year, I never thought being employed would take up so much of my time, I havent had the time I would have liked to reply to emails, send out parcels etc etc and thats why I stopped sending mails to the digest. The good news is I only have 2 months to go then I will be back at university. You can now mail me at my old adress. lgreen @ pine.shu.ac.uk. Hopefully though I will try to get an email only account at home. I dont want to go over old ground, but I sent that Joe P. guy a book and he never sent the CD he agreed to exchange. If anyone wants to buy a copy of the book 'Level 42, the definitive biography' I have many copies. Send a cheque for 28.50 dollars including postage if your american, or if your over here its 12.50 pounds. That guy who wanted about 6 I could do that for 150 dollars. You can send cheques or write to me at: LOZ Green 110 Abbey Lane Sheffield S8 OBQ England Tel: 0114 2746673 Unfortunatly I have ne news on the re-releases. I just havent had the time :-( Watch this space.... Its coming.... LOZ ------------------------------ Subject: Lounge Lizards, Beer Fest & Level Fest NYC From: Paul Fucito Date: Sat, 14 Jun 1997 10:59:09 -0700 Anyone remember The Lounge Lizards? I picked up "No Pain For Cakes" yesterday and it's a great jazz album... Today I will induldge myself in micro-brew-beer heaven at the 2nd Annual Weeping Radish International Craft Brewers Fest here in the Outer Banks of North Carolina (89 degrees by the way)... More great beer and food than I can mention... Last year I was the radio personality hosting it over the air, now I'll just be a beer drinking fool.... If it wasn't Africa-Hot out I'd wear my great Level 42 shirt... I think NYC would be a great place...In a few weeks I will be moving back to NJ (the shore area of course) and will be close to my favorite city.. I say we all pile into Jekyl & Hydes in the Village, choose from 250 beers, and talk Level 42... If you haven't been to Jekyl & Hydes yet.. GET MOVING and see if you can find the secret passages to the restrooms... Paul ------------------------------ Subject: Guitar tuning From: Pat Flanagan Date: Sat, 14 Jun 1997 10:25:16 -0400 > notes at least). Is there any difference in the string tuning between a > plain guitar and a bass guitar? Do I need to re-tune my plain guitar's > first four strings in some way? (Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong) The first four strings of a six-string guitar are tuned to E A D G, just like a bass. The fifth string would be tuned to B, the sixth string to E. I'm doing this off the top of my head, so I could be wrong. Plus, there are 5,000,000 (actually 4,999,697) ways to tune a guitar, but that's your "standard" tuning. From: "Zaron Michael Frumin" Date: Sat, 14 Jun 1997 12:30:02 -0400 (EDT) Hi, all: Could someone please clarify what's happening with this Wang Chung rumour? It didn't sound like a joke to me when it was first mentioned, and I know I'm not the only one who 'fell for it'... If it was a joke, then I'm disappointed that I got my hopes up... Best, Zaron -- fruminza @ pilot.msu.edu ------------------------------ Subject: Pictures From: Lolitaj @ aol.com Date: Sat, 14 Jun 1997 14:55:29 -0400 (EDT) Hey All: I'm at Winston's office right now and we are scanning pictures of recent Levelfests and we were laughing about the daishiki thread that took place a few weeks ago. We came up with this idea: all those who are going to Vegas next weekend, please bring a picture of yourself from long ago - preferably at least 10 years. We want to see the afros, bell bottoms, pageboy haircuts, fat gold ropes and Cazals, Izod Lacoste polo shirts, everything. How about it? I'm sure we all have some pretty funny representations of ourselves. Lolita
