OK, when you say chat room, are you talking about IRC? That would be my suggestion for internet chats. Sounds good, though! Well, I haven't seen them in concert, only on the video's. I think " Fashion Fever" worked well on Live At Wembley and that "Hot Water" was great on Guaranteed Live. Of couse I'm one of those diehard fans, like everyone else here, who's judgement may be a little impaired. I'm curious if, on the same concert tour, they played a different set of songs or if they switched them around a little? Anyone here see them twice on the same tour or know the answer? On that same note, I do think that Paul McCartney opening with "Figure Of Eight" on his 1990 tour was a little dissapointing. (This song was from his most recent album at the time.) Especially after not touring for almost 15 years. He could have picked something better I think. He did redeem himself later during his 1993 tour by opening with "Drive My Car." Take Care, Rolf ------------------------------ Subject: Little Local Clubs? US Release? From: Fabfriday @ aol.com Date: Sat, 3 Feb 1996 11:45:18 -0500 IF Mark King DOES finish his solo album anytime soon, will it be released in the US, or are they going to once again ignore the LARGE US fan base? Just because they haven't L42 hadn't charted in nearly 10 years, doesn't mean we've forgotten the band and it's members.. And what about Mike Lindup's solo album? Why not release it here? Keyboard magazines always feature him, there would be enough interest... If any of these albums DO make it to the US, what are the odds of Mark or Mike playing in a few small clubs in the States? I find it unfair that the band gave up on the US after the Staring At The Sun videos were filmed here. I kept waiting for them to come back around, but they never did. At least if I got to see Mark or Mike in a local club, I'd feel a little better. One little note: When Level Best came out in 1989, Leaving Me Now was re-released as a single to US radio stations. The promo-only-cd had the single version on it. There was no support by Polygram however to play it, so it never made it. And the strange thing is you just desperately want to share that >rush with somebody and they always end up saying "it's ok. Nice tune" or >something and you're like "nooooooo... that's not the idea!". EXACTLY!!!! To Nathan who has these "demo versions" of Tired of Waiting, Guaranteed, and Overtime, Where did you get these??????? Also, the Running In the Family on my "Live At Wembley" doesn't have different words at all. Are you sure about that one? For the record also, Something About You does, in fact, have the words, "Something about the way you are..." in the countermelody that Mike sings underneath what Mark sings in the chorus. I love the way that meshes together. Another reason why they're brilliant. I, for one, LOVE the ADSC mix of To Be With You Again. "AhBahBAhBAHWouldgoanywhERE!!!!" There you go Vince. Lastly, thanks to Loz for phoning Crock and keeping us all informed. I am grateful. See you all, Angel
