Well, Richard, even if I had, I'd still be first (I changed everyone's name to something after mine, just in case of this occurrence!). I can't wait! After looking at all those blank discs for sooooo long, I'll soon have my very own 'burn'd'un! (That's Texan for Bar-B-Que!) > PS Matthew have you received my money ???? Richard brings up a very good point here. . . Money. Some of you still haven't sent it! That's interesting, because the fanclub tape of the '89 gig has a bass solo (see my last post in #166!) in which Mark plays a groovy little bluesy/funky riff, whilst singing "They don't know... like I know..." etc - kind of improvising over the line (before going off whacko on the E-string). Rather a good solo actually, and Mike joins in on the "They don't know..." bits, with Mark singing about "ma baybbbbeeeee" and so on. Ever so English. Heheheheh. Hell, if I had a sampler, I'd be able to let you all hear it... TTFN! Hansen" Date: Tue, 18 Jun 1996 19:24:37 -0400 (EDT) ... yeah, right! And I'm not talking about you either, Loz! Hey there Levelheads! well, as some of you know, I've been in San Francisco, California since Tuesday, June 4th. I got back last Friday, but haven't had too much time to get on the net, let alone catch up on the 150+ messages that have accumulated since I last logged in from SF on Monday the 10th. Nice to see that listwise, things more-or-less ran themselves, and with the possible exception of some very long digests being included in the next day's digest, pandemonium and catastrophe seem to have been abated - at least for now! Anyways, my trip out west was somewhat eventful... I missed meeting up with Mr. Tucker Hass, which was a bummer. Maybe next time, Tuck! I did get several voicemails from the man, however, and he does have the southern accent going, so I'm inclined to think that he's legit as far as being a true homeboy from south of Mason-Dixon =) As for the issue of me possibly relocating out west, the jury is still out. Maybe I'll just wait for Zak to move and then, if six months later, California hasn't become it's own island, I'll move! On-the-level, I don't really have too much to say... I did my fair share of record shopping while out in the Bay Area, but didn't find anything worth a bean. I admittedly wasn't looking in the right places, but living in Harvard Square, Cambridge (which is a micro-mecca of record shopping in it's own right), I don't think I'll be any worse off. And now, back to the program! -Eric Level 42 Digest Manager -- Eric J. From: John Venzon Date: Tue, 18 Jun 96 19:35:37 -0000 Hey there boys and girls! John Venzon here. My CD recorder has been working day and night to get the discs out to you. Here is the list of people I mailed discs out for today (Tuesday). This includes the first three I listed, just for good measure: Matthew Blackmon Steve Blackwell Nigel Collier Laurence Green Sean Green Ari Gunawan Daniel James Rob Kadel Lars-Ove Karlsson Jay Tracy Tom Trudell Nathaniel Wells One cavet, though. Although Pinnacle Micro sent me a new unit that doesn't waste discs, it is a bit freaky. From time to time, and for no good reason at all, it would move the start point of a track 5-8 seconds early. What the hell does that mean? Well, if you listen to the disc start to finish, nothing. *BUT* if you jump to say, track 8, it would play that last 5 seconds of track 7. No harm, but annoying as &*$^^%. Sorry, kids. I called Pinnacle Micro about it and they said, "hmmmm. We'll get back to you" So, in interst of getting every a disc, I pressed forward. It doesn't happen to every disc, so yours might not do that. Just don't be surprised. Also, I but a little bonus goodie at the end of random discs! Ohhh! Will you be one of the lucky ones? Hmmm? Remember, the 42 disc I burn gets a bonus prize! Could it be you? Lovin' you all like family, John
