From: cs4king @ cis.qmced.ac.uk (glad to see ya) Date: Wed, 12 Jun 1996 13:22:35 +0100 Hi, I joined this list only a few days ago once I discovered the page on the Internet. Amazing what you can do when you're bored... Anyway, I'm Saffron and I'm 20. I first took an interest in the band when I was 11 and first heard To Be With You Again on a compilation tape. Now the song has special meaning for me as my boyfriend is in Pennsylvania USA while I'm stuck here in Edinburgh, Scotland. Since 1987 I've therefore become a big fan of the band. Though I only got to seethem once at Bradford on the Guaranteed tour. and loved it. Mike sung The Spirit is Free on that tour and now I love the album Changes which it came from. I have got a copy of their Crystal Palace gig that was broadcast on the radio but its never quite the same as being there!! I've just finished my 2nd year of a degree course in Communication Studies and live with my three mad flatmates. They are all working now during the summer holiday whereas I'm not - so I guess I should be the one looking after the house!! Sod that though... When I graduate I'd like to go into journalism or something closely related to music. don't worry, I wouldn't have given Live at Wembley such a bad review!! My hobbies are listening to music, naturally, and attempting to teach myself guitar. Or maybe that should be attempting to motivate myself... anyway, I love reading this list because I'm finally getting to find out what's happening with the guys and what they're doing after the band split. That was a sad day for me when they split I can tell you... four lines in the Daily Mail and i read it on a bus on the way home from town! Anyway, that's all Take care Saffron ------------------------------ Subject: Turn It On From: lolita @ interserv.com Date: Wed, 12 Jun 1996 05:24:20 -0700 Hey All: Rob - Winston found Turn It On at one of the NYC HMV stores about a month ago, and they had a number of copies. Your store should have it soon, but I'll keep my eyes open for you. If there is a Virgin Megastore near you, I suggest checking their import section for it. Kelvin Levels - GREAT last name!!! From: Gregory Reddin Date: Wed, 12 Jun 1996 08:32:36 -0500 (CDT) Hello all: Can anyone list the tracks that are on the Remixes cd? Thanks Gregory Reddin ranger @ onramp.net ------------------------------ Subject: import cd's From: wrholley @ burgoyne.com Date: Wed, 12 Jun 1996 08:11:16 -0600 For all of you in the US looking for the new live CD I can't help you. But I have found a few stores here in Utah (YES--UTAH! of all places) that have "Turn It On." Media Play, the huge mega-store has it and so does a tiny place called Crandall Audio, who specializes in imports. You can call them directly at (801) 226-8737. If they're out I'm sure they will be ordering more. There are a lot of fans here and L42 still gets ample air-time on two stations here. One is a jazz/new age and the other is a classic modern/alternative (no grunge). (who is a fantastic bass player) It was on german television, which am able to recieve in Amsterdam (yes, The Netherlands). Does anyone know if he played on any of Bruces albums ? I know mark has been always a fan of CREAM. Once i saw L42 playing sunshine of your love, which was great !! Doe anyone know L42 playing other covers ? Erik T. (ETphone home) ------------------------------ Subject: Jazzmasters & Levels From: LittleHalo @ aol.com Date: Wed, 12 Jun 1996 16:16:16 -0400 First of all to Lazlo: I have the Jazzmasters II disc by Paul Hardcastle. Someone gave it to me for Christmas and I have only listened to it once because it didn't really wow me. I guess you could say I found it a little 'fluffy' as you would say. Also, Gary Husband is NOT featured on this disc. It's drum machine city and he is nowhere credited. Secondly, welcome to Kelvin Levels! If that is really your last name then you are a lucky Kdog! :-) See y'all, Angel ------------------------------ Subject: Thunderbirds and Stingray From: lonestar @ redshift.com (Jerry Rehn) Date: Wed, 12 Jun 1996 22:15:16 -0700 Greetings everyone, Regarding: > start their mid-80's shows with it? I seem to remember a different opening > theme, Thunderbirds and Stingray, sounding a lot like Mark singing it, then Does anyone out there know where to get these two recordings? Are they available? Who composed and recorded them?? See class, simple questions!! Take care - Jerry P.S. How many others out here have a video copy of the Royal Albert Hall gig?? Pretty cool just to have I must say. And some of the extra footage on the tape is nowhere on the face of the earth anymore probably. Great foreign footage. Thanks WINSTON!!!
